what kind of ants? what do they look like?
why get rid of it??? it is better to make friends with them - they are so interesting wink.gif

31.10.2006 18:45, Tigran Oganesov

Most likely, this is a Pharaoh ant, which is really better to get rid of because the creature is very harmful. A mixture of sugar and boric acid is often recommended, they say it helps.

you can read about them here: Monomorium pharaonis (Pharaoh ant)
If they crawl inside the formicarium, and not around the apartment-then very funny ants.

How to etch out of the apartment?

28.04.2007 11:26, Боря

We also had them at one time. In my opinion, ants, like Prussian cockroaches, like when you can get something delicious in the house. If there are bread crumbs on the floor and on the table after eating, traces of food, unwashed dishes, etc., they will still come to the smell of edible food.

In my experience, the following can help.
Thoroughly wash the floor, walls, skirting boards where ants have been seen most often, as well as countertops and shelves in kitchen tables with a 'Fairy' detergent to remove ant 'smell tracks'.
Repair cracks and crevices.
Do not leave crumbs on the table or floor after eating. In the evening, after dinner, wash the countertops and sink with detergent.

Girls, I know how to fight ants..
simple, cheap, angry..proven
and non-toxic
buy land for flowers, in a bag, costs about 35 rubles..
we put uninvited residents next to the place where there is a cluster,
they think that they have brought a new anthill, and they move there, and most importantly, they transfer their female queen to this land.
You just wait for the package to fill with new residents, and take it far away..
Good luck.

I'm sorry to disappoint you. These ants form, as a rule, several families and do not live in the ground, but under baseboards, in ventilation, in books and other nooks and crannies frown.gifDo not like the cold very much. Mashenka chalk helps: smear a solid line along the baseboards and ceiling around the perimeter. But the fight will be long and difficult...

I would never risk having a Pharaoh ant, not even in formicaria eek.gif
Not only did they cling to the remains of food, they devoured my insects on the straighteners. Those who have dealt with them will never wish such a thing on another. And I brought them out very simply, to my own surprise. I bought a tiny ampoule from a store that said " Ant Repellent." I just put them in a few places at home and they disappeared in a week and never came back. jump.gif

Yeah, getting a Pharaoh ant in the formicariumsmile.gif. It is safer to keep bird-eaters or scorpions, cases of "prisoner escapes" are less frequent and the consequences are not so far-reachingsmile.gif.
Ants are repelled by a number of substances and, first of all, the smells of some plants. Sunflower oil has a strong deterrent effect, and to protect food products from the attack of ants, it is enough to lubricate the outer edges of food containers with oil. They are also deterred by the smells of walnut leaves, elderberry, tomatoes, wild mint, wormwood, garlic, and cloves. The use of poisoned baits is based on the fact that worker ants not only eat these baits themselves, but also feed them to queens and larvae, which leads to the gradual extinction of the ant family. Toxic substances in baits are deliberately taken in small amounts to allow worker ants to carry poisoned food to the nest and feed other insects. Using poisoned baits systematically for 2-2. 5 months, you can exterminate all ants in the rooms infected with them. The basis of most poisoned baits is borax (salt of tetraboric acid), a colorless crystalline substance, low-toxic for warm-blooded substances, widely used in the national economy. Common yeast is a very effective means of killing ants. From yeast, a thick paste is prepared on water, to which a little jam or honey is added. Eating this bait, ants die.

According to my observations, gels from cockroaches - "global", "clean house" and so on-help well. Apply them in strips across the ant tracks. If the gel is not fake, then the death begins in a day and within a week the ants disappear. I did a similar procedure at home about two years ago, but there are still no ants.

and where exactly does the uterus live?

28.08.2008 6:46, Мих

In the uterine chamber.

28.08.2008 9:34, fly-km

sps..I mean, where it suits her (under the baseboard, in a flower pot, etc.)

28.08.2008 11:50, Bukashechnik

Suits her where she can show up better in terms of temperature, humidity, and so on. And then, the uterus of many species of ants, at least in the same tetramorium, is not one, in the old anthill they count by dozens. They sit naturally in different cells. I also suffered from goosebumps after moving to a new apartment. The first summer was even years old.
Settled
- under the baseboard and door jambs (where there were poorly sealed seams by builders),
- under the tile in the bathroom (the nest was found when the tile was changed),
- made several attempts to settle in flower pots, penetrating through drainage holes.

The pencil didn't help - they preferred to avoid brushstrokes. Insect traps and mixtures with boric acid were also ineffective.
Only some German remedy helped (a canister with a long tube at the end, from which foam is squeezed out). All suspicious cracks were processed several times over the course of several months, until they disappeared. In flower pots, he simply pulled out plants with a lump of earth, and scalded the rest with boiling water.
Later, 2 times they tried to return through the ventilation, but the spray can held back the second invasion.

and how to deal with African ants?

18.04.2009 8:59, никакое

people help me how to get rid of those ants who love water and I'm already wall.gif

18.04.2009 10:29, Надежда Муравьёва

People! Take some good advice. Do not suffer either with newfangled means, or with borax. It's all useless. I've been through this before. And then, you can't get other insects in the house without the risk of killing them with undecayed insecticides.
Everything is extremely simple: you buy the most fragrant unrefined sunflower oil on the market and cover all the joints, crevices and holes with cotton wool. Everything! The very next day, not a single ant will be found in the apartment! Personally verified!

I got ants in a flower pot, this flower was brought to me a couple of days ago (apparently already with ants), and yesterday I saw a lot of ants on the floor around it!
they were not seen anywhere else in the apartment! they are red and very small, these are the domestic ants in question?
how to deal with them so as not to damage the flower?
please tell me!

27.05.2009 12:40, omar

in your case, I don't see any difficulties at all. If the anthill is in a flower pot, then carefully remove the flower, throw all the earth along with the anthill and ants into the toilet and flush it. Fill in new earth and plant a plant in it. even if a few worker ants remain on the roots of the plant, they can no longer build a new anthill and will soon die.

27.05.2009 17:37, namana

the fact is that the flower is very large and heavy, the height of the pot is half a meter. maybe there are other options? something to water the ground?

I have small black goosebumps in my apartment. I traced their progress, they are crawling from the basement (I live on the first floor). I don't know what to do!! there are more and more of them(((((((((((((((

We have these creatures live for two years,I do not know how to deal with them! Now winged, small can be seen hatched only. The entire foundation is plastered with them.No means help not Masha, not all sorts of gels, they just swing from room to room.We have a small child in the house,so of course there can be no talk of grandiose harassment. My husband once sprayed the foundation with dichlorvos, so many of them came from there, and the eggs are just a nightmare!I don't have the strength to fight these creatures anymore. In the bath, all the seams between the tiles were eaten through,I don't know if they can be anointed with sunflower oil,we haven't exactly tried this yet.

UAZHAEMAYA namana-THROW OUT TOGETHER WITH THE FLOWER DO NOT JELLY, OTHERWISE THESE CREATURES WILL SPREAD. AND IT WILL GET RID OF OH HOW PROBLEMATIC.

Really need to throw out urgently!!! And if the collection is in the house-then this infection is worse than any leatherworms will be. I got them once-so part of the collection was devoured in the shortest possible time (I had to get crystal camphor and pour it all over-it helped).

From red house ants, the best remedy is Raptor gel.Just apply small drops on baseboards, windows, ventilation holes throughout the apartment.Especially treat the kitchen and bathroom area. The gel is transparent and odorless. And another good tool-chalk"Masha".I wish you good luck! jump.gif

To combat this type of ants, a special tool has been developed. Only it is not sold here in Russia. My friends brought this drug from Prague once for themselves (they were terribly divorced - they ruined the collection!), and the second time at my request for my colleague. Destruction efficiency - 100%. I can't remember the name right now, but I'll check it out later and let you know. smile.gif

10.03.2010 17:45, Evgenich

Clarified it.
The remedy for ants is "Lafarex". It is a powder. 5-6 years ago it cost 61 CZK. Now, probably more.

02.05.2010 17:19, Инэсса

And here I take all (muck) what is in the house: a thick dandruff shampoo, vinegar, dish detergent, sunflower oil (odorous).I mix all this, put it in a syringe and pour it into the cracks under the baseboards and in the floor from where they get out, and those that are already in the house-just vacuum)))

05.05.2010 23:56, Elion

I'm not sure about the ants, but I know for sure that the Moscow SIS poisons cockroaches with "Bars" at home, although it hides it strenuously=)

In my opinion the best way to get rid of ants is to move smile.gif

damn, black ants also started up, so far only fairi anointed the baseboard, I don't know what to do

Dear entomologists,!!! HELP!!!!
I have large ants in my dacha: fotki.yandex.ru/users/perreiro/view/236777/?page=0
The size of an ant in length is about 15 mm (ordinary forest - 8-10 mm). By their habits , they are like cockroaches: if they hear or see them, they hide, run very quickly, in jerks. Maybe someone knows who they are, how they live, how many nests, queens, etc. I visit the dacha once a week, so I can't observe the dynamics. They live in wood, no matter how the house is eaten!!!!! I would appreciate your feedback on the forum or on perreiro@ya.ru. Ready to send more photos or samples)

Arrived, it seems, inside the coil with the cable. At least 4 years ago, I observed them near the house, in pieces of a reel. I was happy for them, what beauties)))
And this year I noticed in the house, I began to understand - I found several holes from which they come. At the same time I saw 25 pieces (ants). They run away immediately.
I haven't started to poison you yet, PLEASE HELP me!!!

For comparison, the photo shows an ant and my nail. The size of the nail (along the axis of the finger, in the center-12 mm).
