Feed the willow trees, what else to do with them. Increase the size of the jar as the gus grows.. Monitor the humidity - both small and large-is bad). Clean the jar every day.

Good luck!

They only eat willow and that's all.poplar, apple tree and even birch-a complete failure!

This is strange. They may not eat some types of poplar, but they eat apple trees very well. Maybe you don't have an ocular one, but some kind of ceccus?

The eggs were left over from a female who spent the night in a jar.Ocular exactly. But it was the willow that they attacked.Well, we will feed the willow. In general, I have the first experience of breeding from eggs. The result is so far, they live and eat 4 out of 15 eggs. I think more will not hatch. They've grown up pretty well already. And what is the approximate duration of feeding? What conditions are optimal for the growth rate?

Sorry it's so late. They grow for about 27-36 days.Pupate in the soil (a layer of earth,
sawdust, moss with a layer of at least 5 cm, if you see that you have started to dig in, slightly moisten
the ground, and the whole thing is on the cabinet, where no one will bother them(boyatya blows and
can not calmly pupate)Don't touch it for at least 30-35 days.
If you want, you can use a transparent plastic container (from cakes) like me.Success.Remember that it is better to be dry than very wet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the ocellate, it is better to make a layer of moist moss of at least 15 centimeters, since this species burrows deeply. And it is better to plant no more than 20 pieces per 15-liter container. Caterpillars pupate within 3-4 days after they are buried, at 27 degrees. I usually take out the pupae a week after the last caterpillar is buried. By this time, they will finally harden. If you wait 30-35 days, then during this time butterflies can climb, if the caterpillars and pupae were kept warm, with a long day.
