we have a problem with Deroplatys lobata (L5), female.
symptoms:
the larva's abdomen hangs like a bag of water down, it has become less mobile, sometimes it is difficult for it to climb on the lid of the terrarium, it often does not respond to external stimuli, it used to drink a lot and eat normally, but now it refuses food and water. from time to time, the eyes become cloudy, two stripes have appeared on the dorsal part of the abdomen: each of the stripes is black on top, red on the bottom, they are located between the segments, but these are not holes as I assumed earlier. from time to time, it cleans and reduces the abdomen. we thought it was going to fade soon. but it's been three or four days and something else has been added, which made me worry.

the abdomen is getting bigger and bigger. it looks like she's eating, but not defecating at all. from the anal opening this morning came out something strange white-yellow color, the consistency is similar to cream, as well as a couple of drops of yellowish liquid. some of them fell out by themselves, while others remained hanging. we carefully touched it and it finally came out, now a drop of reddish color is hanging... I must say, there was quite a lot of this mass.
the animal looks the same as before, except for the weakness that appears from time to time, and then disappears. and the eyes then turn cloudy, then become normal again. please give me some advice... we don't know what the right thing to do is... I feel sorry for the animal.
maybe she's got some kind of parasite. or a medical condition?..

we fed Deroplatys lobata with feed crickets, and it also ate one fly during this time. we maintain the desired humidity.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO TO GET THE ANIMAL BACK TO NORMAL?

in general, she died on Sunday... she became very weak and finally died... all night before, a yellowish liquid dripped from it, becoming more transparent with each drop. Since the lapma was turned on and I was sitting in the right place, I could see my belly showing through. the upper half seemed empty, while the lower half was filled with something. perfectly smooth dividing line. this made me uneasy.

she died this morning... we did an autopsy. all the internal organs had turned to brown goo. what fell out and flowed out of her was her innards.
our best guess is that her stomach ruptured, and she overtrained her organs... not for nothing did she constantly drink a lot and persistently. that's probably why my stomach burst. there are suggestions that she had a bad time moving, which started this process... in general, the poor guy suffered 5 days... and until recently, she did not create the impression of a dying animal... it turns out that from the very first day of the increase in the abdomen, it was already impossible to help her... but as always, I believed in a miracle. I think we did our best. although my conscience still torments me...

Later I learned that this happens often and does not depend on the species at all. the cause can be almost any injury.

I've written it all here in case someone has a similar experience and doesn't know what to do. maybe someone will find this topic useful...

about the adult and the ootheca: it was a larva. they are easy to distinguish from adults. plus, if you were pregnant or had already postponed the ooteka, it would look a little different... and here's just a bag of liquefied intestines for the belly... it's a pity so ((((and sad...

Maybe your pet had a bacterial infection? Something very similar, a kind of deadly diarrhea. Why do you think that ANY injury can lead to such consequences? If so, it could have been a very severe abdominal contusion. Don't let your conscience bothersmile.gifyou, it seems like you've been taking care of her like a mother.

now I'm more inclined to believe that the cause of death was nematodes. the symptoms are very similar indeed...
