Please help me!
My parents have strange insects in the barn!
They live on walls and ceilings. They love corners. They multiply rapidly. Very small, about the size of a poppy seed. The body is oval in light color, with a dark rim around the circumference.
When you go into the barn, rain falls from the ceiling on you. They do not bite, but they climb very unpleasantly on the body.
Tried to poison with everything you can (diflophos, dust, sredsvo from aphids (intavir), poison from Colorado potato beetles) nothing helps. Tell me how to deal with them.

Ukraine. Sumy region.
Yuri.
Thank you in advance.

Tomorrow I will try to take a photo, but I'm afraid that it will be difficult to make out, since they are very small.

In continuation of the topic, I post photos that turned out better.

Please help!!!

some ticks, try to dry your shed pretty

02.07.2009 21:12, amdin771

We have now the heat is standing, I do not know how else to dry it. I have the impression that it is the opposite from the heat.

Yuri, you can see everything quite clearly in the photo. It's not insects, it's some kind of mites. In principle, just by drying them, you are unlikely to get rid of them. The entire structure needs to be processed. You can try contacting a service similar to the former SES (I don't know what it's called in Ukraine now). But is the sheepskin worth the effort? The barn is ancient, isn't it? And SES will probably have to pay. Here's another question - what is stored in the barn? Ticks can live in some kind of substrate stored in the shed. If you find the source of their reproduction, it will be enough to eliminate it.

02.07.2009 22:28, amdin771

Nothing special is stored in the shed. There were chickens, but they are now deposited in another place. At first, they thought it was some kind of chicken flea. Dvzhe in sanstantsii took a tool of some kind. But then they started breeding all over the barn, mostly on the ceiling. You come in and feel them raining down on you. It is amazing that nothing works on them, many tools have been tried. And in what most likely they can live and reproduce???

02.07.2009 22:34, Victor Titov

And how long have you been noticing them in such numbers? In principle, ticks can be associated with chickens. And when the chickens were removed, they could crawl out "from all the cracks", because the owners disappeared, which caused them concern. I'm not an expert on ticks, as probably most people on this forum are. Insect lovers and specialists gather here, and ticks are a completely different group of invertebrates (this is brief, so as not to fill your head with taxonomy). And that these are ticks is 100%.

Well, at first they started noticing them in chickens(in the chicken coop), and not in very large quantities, then the parents started fussing and decided to poison them and planted the chickens. That's probably how it all started. The last thing they tried to poison was singeing the brimstone in the barn and closing the doors. In my opinion, all living things should have died, because they breathe something. But still there is no result. Maybe you can recommend me another forum where people specialize in ticks.
Also - how dangerous are they for humans, and how far can they spread?

I confess, the photos fell out for some reason. You did the right thing by re-posting it.

Since you originally noticed the ticks when the chickens were in this barn, the theory that these ticks are related to birds is quite justified. And their increased activity after the relocation of chickens can just be caused by anxiety caused by the disappearance of hosts-food sources (chickens). By the way, if this is the case, then the ticks will gradually disappear from the shed where the chickens do not live. However, check if they have appeared (albeit in small numbers) in the room where you moved the chickens.
As for the harm to humans, it is definitely impossible to speak out without determining the specific type of tick (and it is difficult even for a specialist to do this from a photo). Ticks can be carriers of a number of diseases.
Regarding another forum or other information about ticks, I can only recommend contacting the Internet through any search engine (for example, google) by typing "ticks" or Acari (their Latin name) in the search box. To begin with, here are two references that caught my eye "offhand"::

I wish you success!

try to clean the shed of chicken droppings(very good) and go through everything with a solution of lime... it usually helps to disenfect such structures
