Hello, dear entomologists!

I ask for your advice on such an important problem for me - termites were found in the house.

House in Dnepropetrovsk region. It is built of adobe (clay with straw), without a foundation, later it was covered with brick, and the floor is filled with cement mortar, the roof is slate on wooden rafters, as well as in the structure there are wooden beams on which the ceiling lies. It is used as a summer cottage.

Inside the house, winged termites emerged from passages in the walls. They look something like this:

This happened at night, but during the day the insects do not show visible activity. At first I thought they were ants, but then, next to the dark winged insects, I found light wingless ones similar to these.

If photos of "my" actual insects are required, I will do it.

After searching the Internet, I came to the conclusion that we do not sell special drugs against termites, and the fight against them is problematic in view of their secretive residence. As far as I understand, they come out of their habitats only for reproduction and it is very difficult to find a termite pit, because it can be underground, and therefore the delivery of chemical preparations to the main female can be very difficult. This raised the question of whether the ants would help me kill the termites . In fact, do not settle in the house an anthill, because then it is easier to drive ants away, because they are hunters and drag into their house everything that they think is delicious and you can slip them some kind of muck, of which there is a wide range on sale.

If you know in advance that such a biological war will not lead to victory, I ask for advice on chemical warfare.

Thanks for attention.

better of course photos of yours, and not pictures from the Internet. at the expense of ants I will not say, but I can advise a tool that helps from many uninvited guests-Kartocid compound. You'd better take a universal one and handle everything. the tool is not cheap, but there have been no complaints about it for many years.

now the conversation is more substantive. termites. the recommendations are the same as before-kartocid. carefully walk them through all the wooden parts, including the basement. remove a couple of boards so that you can get into the basement and work the entire base of the house and floors from the inside and you can go through the ground under the house. 5$ for a consultation and a separate processing feewink.gif, however, first you need to come to us to conclude a contract tongue.gif

Thank you for your participation, but, unfortunately, I didn't find any cartocide on the Ukrainian Internet.
