Community and Forum → Website news and updates → First results of integration/transfer/duplication of Molbiol at Insecta.pro

During September, I will have little time to work with Insecta, so I will announce here the results of the summer and plans for the fall: All topics/messages have been moved. But those that have appeared since the transfer were not transferred yet. An essential part of the transferred file is open for public access (for unregistered users). But not all of it — because search engines have started to impose sanctions for dubbing content. Therefore, it is necessary to open gradually, as well as supplement Russian-language pages with English translations. However, this restriction applies only to unregistered users. If you are in your Insectaccount — you will see all topics and messages. Everyone who followed the link for automatic name synchronization on Molbiol and Insecta is now signed with names on Insecta, not nicknames. There are less than a hundred such users, but there are many active users among them, so you will often see names instead of nicknames on Insecta (plus, Insecta users are initially under names, and not under nicknames). All topic titles have been translated, but not all texts have been translated yet. Translation is in progress. A lot of crooked, left-handed, temporary, and spam topics were filtered out. But there will be one more hole for further filtering. Special characters and double "dogs" have been added throughout the entire Insect. Now you can use them to indicate not only the name of a species (or other taxon) in a comment with an automatic link to it, but also a photo of the insect from the site's gallery, which will be shown in an average size with a link to the page with a full-size image. Improved processing of URLs with parameters in the catalog, reduced their length by counting empty values. We are currently working on automatic deletion of default parameters. Links to the catalog page will now be more convenient. The mobile version of the site has become more visible. The full list of changes is available on the page https://insecta.pro/ru/community/news In October (and possibly partly in September), the translation of all messages will be completed, topics will be added to the public domain (those that have not yet been posted due to search engines), topics will be filtered out, and a section for finding colleagues/entomologists by geography and area of interest (groups) will be published. insects). After that, I will send a newsletter to all Insecticide users (old and new), to Naturalist users, and post a message on Molbiol. At this point, it will be important to visit the site not just to "look", but also to "chat", "publish", etc. Because that's when there will be an influx of people from mailing lists, but people will not be drawn into the activity if there is no activity without them :-- ) However, until then, of course, it will be fine if you are active :-- ) Well, if the activity continues, then from late autumn — early winter there is a plan for a global reform of the technical and design part of the entire site, because now it, of course, has age-related shortcomings in both. But this is a completely different job. Now I do most of the equipment myself, pay for only a small amount of highly specialized work that I can't handle myself, and for a serious reform I will have to hire more serious specialists. But the result will also be noticeable for users. So we are waiting for atkivnosti :-- ) As usual — if you notice any glitches, there will be comments-write. And as usual, we can talk live about who will be at the exhibition in October in Moscow.
