If you made a mistake when entering new data for a species (distribution, morphology, etc.), you can now edit or delete the information you entered within an hour after loading (the Edit and Delete buttons under the corresponding data section on the view page).

Peter ! I remind you, delete the info . https://insecta.pro/taxonomy/1000975 Features of appearance, distribution, and forage plants. They're not from this species. Then I'll upload what should be there. And in general, make it possible to edit here on a permanent basis. Why are there time limits again ? And if I need to go somewhere urgently, go for a ride, or want to sleep. . That's how non-accuracy accumulates, which you then need to correct or leave for everyone to see. The same goes for literary sources. It is difficult to make the possibility of editing permanent, and sometimes the same source is used 2 times. If you are afraid that someone will take the "valuable list of references" and delete it, then copy it

Yes, Peter. Please remove the time limit. IMHO: also unnecessary ) Or provide access to absolutely all data of this nature (without time limits of course) for moderators/curators. We will correct any errors that users may have requested. I can also do this at my leisure ))

Restrictions are needed to exclude the following situation: The user hangs up the info, the moder formalizes the data based on it, the user deletes/changes the info = glitch. Moderators / curators can edit, yes.

Well, the data can be reformulated based on the changed information. That's another question. How can I track these changes in a timely manner? Do the editing. How will I have a normal Internet - I'll run it in. At the same time, I'll fix it for myself (there are some blunders):)

Peter ! It becomes unclear how to create a topic edit information, and the existence of the section itself ADDING INFORMATION ABOUT THE VIEW. Even 6.06.16 g asked to delete my info, as not listed there. Not here on 16.06.16, but "who is still there". It turns out as in the proverb "I will not give myself, etc. I will not give" If you do not need information, then tell me about it.

Yuri, well, what is not clear here. I'm running out of time yet again. This means that I can't get my hands on correcting the info and I can't get my hands on making another editing option (for example, so that Vasily can edit it). I will try to break out and still do it in the next few days.

Specifically stated !

Vasily ! I have a question about bugs. Let's say there is an infa that says that imagos are populated by such and such trees. And where should I put it ? It doesn't seem to be very suitable for fodder plants. Although the larvae are located under the bark of specific trees, and sometimes overwinter,it is still not a fact that the imago also feeds on tree-like plants. On the site there is a section ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE IMAGO STAGE, which. it doesn't say anything. But if you remove the word STAGES, you will get a completely acceptable option ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT IMAGO, where it is quite possible to enter such information

03.07.2016 18:51, Peter Khramov

Yuri, now the list of sections for entering information is incomplete. It should either be generalized (so that the wording is suitable for any insects) and, apparently, reduce the number of sections, or, conversely, make different sections for different groups. Since we do not have specialists for all groups and since one of the plans has a large amount of search data for insects, then probably, the first option will be more adequate.

03.07.2016 20:44, Vasiliy Feoktistov

Yuri, in the section "Additional information about the stage of imago" and it is worth entering information of this kind. And do not remove the explanatory word "stages"from the title of the section. Imago is one of the stages of insect development at which the insect is characterized by the features described in this section. Here everything is clear and understandable )))

03.07.2016 21:16, Vasiliy Feoktistov

Peter, I have a question for you about my formalization of the wintering stage ) Like, for example, here: https://insecta.pro/taxonomy/1019802 set up two wintering stages at once (imago and larva)? It happens when, due to certain circumstances, an insect species can overwinter not necessarily at one specific stage, but at several. The thing is, I don't see it possible for me to put two checkboxes at once. I can only change one to another (( It's a good idea to make it possible to post not one jackdaw, but two or more, depending on the characteristics of the species.

And another thing: the time for editing in this case is clearly not an hour, but less (as in the case of editing messages). Please handle this case. It is necessary that the real time corresponds to the declared one.

04.07.2016 1:46, Yuri Semejkin

Peter ! Don't reduce sections. You don't need to be a specialist to enter information in the section. But the ability to edit the "Section names" by groups of insects is probably necessary.

Vasily is absolutely right! In many ground beetles, both imago and larvae overwinter. This is a common thing. And not only in ground beetles. Other similar issues: camera angle when uploading a picture! In beetles, it can simultaneously be both on the side and on top, and in front of the top, etc. Look at the Macroid for how it's done. There you can put several "ticks" at the same time. Yes, and butterflies have such pictures when there is both top and bottom.
