So we finally opened the season!
We went on a night fishing trip near Omsk. Caught on DRL-250 and DRV-250 separated by 40 m from each other. It flew approximately from 22.00 to 23.00.:
Achlya flavicornis (Linnaeus, 1758).

Conistra vaccinii (Linnaeus, 1761).
Xylena vetusta (Hübner, [1813]) 3 copies.
Lithophane socia (Hufnagel, 1766) 1 specimen.

after returning to the city, Orthosia incerta (Hufnagel, 1766) was found on a street lamp near the garage, although there was not one in the forest!

In the afternoon, before that, spring birds flew in the city, most likely parthenias.

Here is a short report smile.gifThe beginning is laid! Some photos:

Yesterday again caught 20 km from Omsk to the light:
Endromis versicolora flew - a total of 25 males were caught for three of them. From scoops-C. vaccinii, O. incerta, B. nubeculosa, X. vetusta and scoops-A. flavicornis.

Yesterday, 24.04.2010 went with a friend to the south of our Omsk region to catch the light. The weather was wonderful - very warm (+22).
IMG_8895_s.jpg
driving up to the intended place of fishing, we stopped to take a couple of picturesque shots:
IMG_8901_s.jpg

they were on the spot at about 19.00. At this time, small groups of Archiearis parthenias were still flying around the birches. We caught them in 3 pieces for a point. Then preparations for the night fishing began:
IMG_8916_s.jpg
IMG_8912_s.jpg
IMG_8917_s.jpg

after checking the wine baits, we noticed several butterflies Conistra vaccinii and 1 Orthosia incerta.
IMG_8933_s.jpg

Night fishing was not very pleasant with the species diversity, but it was compensated by the number. A. flavicornis arrived in dozens:
IMG_8937_s.jpg
C. vaccinii and B. nubeculosa were observed in the same amounts. Endromis versicolora was also very pleased - from 22.00 to 1.00, about 40 individuals arrived, including 4 fresh females!
IMG_8942_s.jpg

Of the interesting ones, only Conistra rubiginea was caught - the 4th specimen in the region (the other three were caught only last year). In our country, it is probably located at the extreme eastern boundary of its range and is very rare.

Today I went to the steppe for an hour. It was quite deserted.
IMG_9015_s.jpg

There's still snow in the ravine! Despite +20. Of the diurnal butterflies, only Pontia daplidice was found... But 2 females and 1 male scoops of Callistege fortalitium (Tauscher, 1809) were caught, which I personally am very happy about, because earlier in the region this species was known only from one specimen.

The bumblebee Bombus armeniacus Radoszkowski, 1877 (CC RF!) was also interesting.
IMG_9021_s.jpg

There were also several species of beetles, eels. I will be glad if you can tell me their names.
T-shirt, by the way, is very healthy!

On May 6, I went night fishing in the vicinity of Omsk. The weather was favorable (+20, overcast, no wind or rain). Accordingly, the year was good, although not particularly rich in species diversity:
Endromis versicolora is still flying (18 units arrived overnight)!
picture: IMG_9141_s.jpg

I started getting brushes:
Clostera pigra
picture: IMG_9085_s.jpg
picture: IMG_9090_s.jpg

Clostera albosigma
IMG_9115_s.jpg

Falcaria lacertinaria arrived en masse:
picture: IMG_9100_s.jpg

Quite a lot of Selenia tetralunaria:
picture: IMG_9105_s.jpg

The first specimens of Lycia hirtaria appeared:
picture: IMG_9116_s.jpg

In addition, scoops flew:
Acronicta rumicis
Orthosia gothica
Orthosia incerta
Orthosia gracilis
Orthosia populeti
Conistra vaccinii
Brachionycha nubeculosa

Moths:
Hypoxystis pluviaria
Trichopteryx carpinata
Cleora cinctaria

Meanwhile, at home from the eggs laid by the female endromis:

the first caterpillar came out:

I came back from my first trip. route. Barnaul-Abakan-Kyzyl-Erzin-Shagonar - and back.
Summer is very late. Daily fees are stupid, except for small episodes of trifiz and O. elwesi.
Very successful materials were collected by night. Approximately 80 sphingids, large volumes of scoops, moths, and arctids. In general, it is normal, very hot. Of the minuses, it is extremely late in the summer and terrible pictures of the life of the population in Shagonara. The scariest ones. The feeling that we are not in the Russian Federation in 2010, but somewhere in Sierra Leone. Nightmare... I was with my 9-year-old son - the kid got a strong impression when he stepped over a drunk, dusty man in shagonara when buying ice cream. The largest grocery store in the city with 50 tons of population approximately 9 sq m. Devastation. Drunk. Rednecks. Ugliness. Tuva for 10 years remained at its own.... How to say my friend-to bring a tank of alcohol and "accidentally" open it. In a month, the territory will be cleared...
Greetings to all those who are familiar with the Ulug-Khem basin. Papaver in particular!!!!
Photo reports will only be available in August. Now there is absolutely no time to do this. 11 I'm going to Tuva again.
In Tuva, a strong flood, demolished many small bridges. This must be taken into account. The Yenisei is very full-flowing. About 5% of Kyzyl and several villages along the Yenisei River were flooded.
Have a great summer!

Tomorrow we will start again in Tuva.
Route-Barnaul-Kosh-Agach-Buguzun Lane-Mugur-Aksy-Khandagayty-Sayansky Lane - and back.
Reports with photos are available only in August. After the 3rd Tuva...
I sincerely hope they don't shoot us down there.
Hello everyone and good luck in the field and at home. Health and more sunshine.

Hello everybody!
The most difficult trip is only half completed. The car was destroyed, they did not break through to Tuva, the passes were closed, the rivers were terrible, they waited for 3 days for evacuation from Barnaul.
In short, cool....
Let's go home.
After an hour, we will still go to Tuva again only by the northern road through Abakan

We returned from Tuva, very long stretches by car. It was tedious, but I managed to collect some things.
On the Abaza-Ak-Dovurak segment, a bear cub was seen on the highway.
I was struck by the abundance of butterflies in the steppes of Khakassia - incredible.

Mongolia starts the day after tomorrow. Composition - Anikin, Doroshkin, Guskova, I, 2 botanists, driver.

Good luck to all.

Recently returned from Altai. I've been to a lot of places, including camping on the Ukok Plateau for a week. It was possible to explore large areas, as they moved on powerful ATVs, which were delivered there by KAMAZ. Unfortunately, out of the entire group of 10 people, only I am interested in entomology, so not all trips were devoted to butterflies, but also to hunting and fishing. I was lucky with the weather and managed to catch quite a lot of butterflies, although not everything I wanted. At night, too, I regularly caught a split DRL 250, placing a sheet directly on the KAMAZ cab.The nights were bitterly cold, ranging from -5 to +8, but butterflies were flying, especially bears on one of the warm and overcast nights. The butterfly report is still ahead, and tc hasn't even started sorting anything out yet. I caught very few beetles, so I took them only along the way, but I give you photos of mattresses and will be grateful for the definition.

All excellent fees and success.

Collected quite a lot of interesting beetles. On butterflies in general 0. Five cheerful Japanese - 3 botanists and 2 entomologists. And so to speak consultants, service staff, translator. There are 14 people in total.

This year Viktor Gazankhidis (Moscow) visited Ukok. These are my favorite places. Icy, shrouded in constant clouds, with unpredictable weather, an amazing Tibetan landscape, a lot of historical mysteries.
More than 100 species of diurnal butterflies fly there. I have an article about this. There, in the ice crypt, they found the most ancient example of animation. The tattoo on the warrior's body in the form of fragments on his arm and side formed the image of a galloping deer as he moved. There are frequent encounters with wolves, bears. Huge grayling is caught there.
I've been to Ukok more than 10 times.
A few photos for dear forumchan.
