Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- There are dark and light forms. The bases of the interocellar setae are located between the anterior edges of the posterior ocelli. The height of the eye is greater than or equal to the height of the cheek. The post-ocular setae of the 4th pair are equal to 2/3 of the length of the interocellar setae; the anterolateral setae of the prothorax are slightly shorter than the anterolateral ones. Two microchetes between the anterolateral macrochetes Bell shaped sensillae are absent on the posterior thorax The crest is poorly developed or absent [273].
- Differences of some other species of this genus: @ @ Frankliniella intonsa @ @ - interocellar setae are located on the edge of the ocular triangle, the crest on the VIII tergite is well developed, with microtrichia emerging from the triangular bases; Frankliniella tenuicornis - the head is extended beyond the tops of the eyes, the bases of interocellar setae are located on the edge of the ocular triangle, sometimes outside the ocular triangle and all post-ocular setae are short, the crest on the VIII tergite in this species is also poorly developed, sometimes represented only by the base without microtrichia [273].
- ♀: 1370-1640 µm ♂: 1030-1220 µm [274].
