Community and Forum → Website news and updates → Big species database update
Peter Khramov, 04.01.2013 0:24
Lots of website species database glitches and bugs are fixed, and a large number of new species, subspecies and supraspecific taxa plus synonyms added. Now we've got over 76,000 lepidoptera species, more than 30,000 subspecies and over 11,000 supraspecific taxa on the website. This update took long to be finished, with what I've been completely taken for the last 10 days, so didn't post new photos added by users nor responded all the Community comments. Shortly I'll pay all these "debts" off, and once it's done there will be few more serious updates of synonyms, common names, host plants and even later the expansion data renewal.
With such numbers this new huge database might somehow be glitching, so if you happen to experience any difficulties, please don't hesitate to report. Besides, these loads of data may cause website slow-down, which is sure to be fixed not now though.
