I accidentally came across this forum! I have a question for the experts - on the Curonian spit invasion of marching silkworm, after staying there in a day all over the body went itchy rash, especially on the soles of the feet (in the forest past the roaring caterpillars for a long time went). It's been going on for almost a week now.. Maybe you have encountered this,do you know how etro is treated and for how long????
And the caterpillars are so beautiful..... almost dragged home=))))

Marching silkworm is a serious thing, there is not only formic acid from the hairs, but also allergies can appear...

so, in my opinion, just described an allergic reaction. I won't say anything about this species, but in my experience with other species, a week is not the limit...Especially if there was no treatment. It would be nice to see a doctor - a dermatologist or therapist and take something for skin allergies (if and what the doctor advises).
