Wasps are very aggressive. Grasshoppers are not the first to attack, do not sting in the back, neck, do not crawl on shoes. Very dangerous wasps. I stay away from them. Sorry.

14.04.2021 20:25, ИНО

Only some social wasps are the first to attack (a small percentage of the wasp fauna) and only when the nest is threatened. Moreover, in order to earn an attack from the same Vespula Germanica (the most aggressive of our wasps), you need to either trample down the hole leading to the nest, or bring your face to it and blow inside (we will not consider more exotic options related to purposeful attempts to get to the nest). And they are dangerous only for allergy sufferers. You have a phobia umnik.gif

Wasps are very aggressive. ... Very dangerous wasps. I stay away from them. Sorry.

Who said that to you? You were clearly misled. Our wasps are less aggressive than honeybees. And those that are really aggressive, we do not meet.

I don't go near hornet's nests. They usually get close to me. They build them in houses, toilets, and everywhere else. So you go to the toilet, such a wasp will sit on your back. If you disturb her accidentally, you're done. On the street, they also like to sit quietly. They like to circle around. There is a great chance to inhale it. And it happened.

Well, the cracks need to be capped in the toilet, and the wasps will not nest. They pick themselves up , but not to sting. Breathe through your nose - tea won't fly into the wasp's nostril lol.gif

Here, summer already means for you. We are also b. m. warm, +18 in the afternoon, but rain and even a small thunderstorm. The elm tree is just blooming, although it's time for it to start bearing fruit. Marshall's crested coat came out (a month late). But the daffodils in the front gardens are still in their buds (they haven't bloomed for two weeks now). In general, the phenology lag is slightly less than a month.

15.04.2021 22:06, alex017

Summer...fso. It's over now. Vetrina, it will get very cold.
The toilet is summer. There is freedom of entry of insects.
Wasps sit on the back of your hair, you touch them (back, hair, neck, not wasps) or just sit down and lean your back and get a "bite". This is how they often behave in our country. I took pictures of other people and people took pictures of me. An unpleasant phenomenon.

15.04.2021 23:44, Hierophis

About the fact that honeybees are more aggressive than wasps(and more specifically vespulae)"utter nonsense. AVA would try to disassemble the vespula nest according to the principle of working with honey bees, and look at the honeycombs, even with a beekeeping grid and a smoker))

Another thing is that Alex's wasps really are also very angry, hungry, probably)
Well, in general, yes, if these are polists, then they like to live in toilets, and they can sting in theory. But so that the wasps sit on the hair, back or somewhere else just like that, and let themselves be touched, and even "removed", it's strange. This is what wasps protecting the nest can do, but they don't just sit down, they buzz and try to sting, and such a wasp will buzz in the hair until it stings.

Alex, your summer is over there, and ours is just beginning.. summer according to Alexsmile.gif, the height of the sun is already like in Perm in mid-June, and on the street - constant overcast and rain, this afternoon it was ok +10, now +7, and tomorrow they draw the same amount at noon weep.gif
Although in fact, most likely we will still have a little warmer tomorrow, the cold will go north, but still not above +12.
Well, at least there are no frosts. Apricots haven't fully bloomed yet, even near the houses, only the tops, well, that's good, it looks like it will be better from the weekend.

16.04.2021 6:53, alex017

Wasps most likely sit down to bask on their sun-warmed backs. They are aggressive near the nest. They do not sit down aggressively from behind, but if you touch your back: scratch or sit down, or put something on - they will sting. Also regarding the hair. They are driven by a shelban to fly away immediately, quickly and far away.

16.04.2021 12:00, ИНО

A-a-a-a, Puten stole the southern Ukrainian summer and took weep.gifus to MAsvkva a little warmer and drier, sometimes even the sun looks out, although it's still far from the middle zone of Russia, where it's already a real summer, without any stretch. Probably, in Moscow apricots will bloom, than at us.

Ty! Vespula germanica, especially in autumn, love to sit on a person and even sometimes try to bite off a piece, but this is not terrible and does not hurt. You just have to wait a little, and the wasp will fly away. But if you try to drive it away, you can really accidentally crush it, and then oh. If they don't sit on Pan Stepovoi, with his love for them, then it must smell wrong. Do the flies land?

I won't tell you about Germanic. I didn't disassemble the nests, because we don't have many of them. But vulgaris are present in abundance. I also had to sort out the nests (males were very much needed). Well, they fly around, well, they buzz. Look. so that the exposed areas of the body do not sit down, and that's all. I've never experienced direct attacks.
Unlike the Far Eastern V. shidai. These ones will be smaller, but they start to get mad near the nest. Somehow I accidentally stepped on their letok, so 10 people flew out and attacked in a serious way. One of them even managed to smack me in the upper eyelid on the fly. I thought it would blow up. But after about 20 minutes, I forgot about the incident. And without consequences.
When describing meetings in country toilets, alex017 most likely meant a Saxon. These, indeed, can attack. But, again, only in the immediate vicinity of the nests, which in these rooms are just at the level of the visitor's head.
The most amazing thing is our hornets. I had to photograph them from a distance of half a meter from the tap. Only the guards became more numerous, but there were no attacks. And once I covered the roof of a verandah with iron a meter from the hornets ' hole. Anyone who has seen it knows what kind of work it is. So the watchman hornets flew out and, after circling with interest, returned to the nest. Also without consequences. Here is such aggressiveness.
Truth. I do not recommend experimenting in this way with V. mandarinia. These people react to the slightest shaking of the earth unambiguously and immediately in a crowd. But with them a special conversation.

16.04.2021 23:10, alex017

I don't trust wasps, hornets, bees, and bumblebees at all. Unless you more or less like bumblebees. Really quite calm creatures. And beautiful.

Yesterday it was +30.
Today I wanted to find a water-loving beetle under the streetlights-I couldn't even find a swimmer.
And the traps do not go something(maybe the bait is not the same).

Today the weather is a little better, without terrible black clouds, although with a lot of white ones. nafotkal a lot of things, including the battle of the messors, titmouse-alcoholic eek.gifand a bunch of different bees, I'll post, probably tomorrow. Speaking of birds, the Osk panovs are certainly interesting (I don't remember any of them here), but where are the bees? I've already lost track of all the bee species I've encountered this spring, and I'll probably get about fifty of them.

A few words about the blue tit: she pecked at the fermented gledichii fruit and let it go at arm's length, while periodically closing her eyes and generally behaving inappropriately. I watched her for half an hour and found out. that, as soon as she was a little let in, she started pecking at them againeek.gif, So that drunks are not only among people umnik.gifSpeaking of these fruits: somehow I. I remember writing here about a strange fragrance coming from zemmli in the middle of winter, the source of which then remained a mystery to me. So, now I have identified it - these are the fleshy beans. They write that they contain up to 26% sugar, but it's a pity that there is still a whole bunch of substances that do not allow them to eat fearlessly. But they smell wonderful in the spring. Even melifera fly up to them.

Thank you. However, I have already determined. There are more than one pair of Sviyazs. This pond Kirscha is a very interesting place for ornithological excursions during the micration period - each time there are completely new species of ducks. On the penultimate day, there were red-headed dives and crested blackheads, and they swam closer. Actually, in order to "shoot" them, I dragged these 4 kg there. But it turned out that their trail was already gone.

Today I visited alkosinichka again to check if she was dead. Nothing like that, continues to peck at the beans. And a little further - the second one is the same.

The weather was not bad. Not completely, though sunny, and the temperature is far from summer, but already a full-fledged spring. Frogs are croaking, snakes and lizards are crawling. Different bees are visible and invisible. The lyrises are out, running around with the anopliuses. The nymphalids finally appeared: peacock's eye and Admiral, but very few. I also saw one polychrome (only the third one this spring, although there should be a dozen of them in a day now).

Tulips bloomed en masse. But only two plants were added for flowering violets, and this is for the entire beam! There are no irises. Rather, there are leaves, and very developed, and a lot. But there are no flowers at all, not even buds. If they don't show up, it will be the first year in my memory without irises. Here is a lot of chistyak, and all new individuals bloom. The majority of insects feed on this plant. In this regard, the mother-and-stepmother, which continues to bloom rapidly, remained almost without visitors.

I envy you your spring!! So cool! Happy for you!

I wrote about a pair of pigtails because there was a male and a female. Singles don't count.

I also had enough ducks on Yauza. 6-year-old cleaver-sviyaz, pintail fingerling and female teal-whistler so generally all winter perekantovalis. Coot flew in, but today no one was there, apparently they ran away to get married. There were only a couple of ogars and mallards preoccupied with fucking.

But the red-eared turtles woke up. In the past years, there have been black ducks, gray ducks, broad-nosed ducks, and various dives, as well as coots and reeds, but now after the local idiots have arranged a fountain in the middle of the backwater, no one will sit down. Just like last year.

But the red-eared turtles woke up.

In the country, too, everything blooms. However, the snowdrops are almost faded. But it is full of honeydew, woodlands, hyanodox. pushkinii, goose onions and liverworts. Beauty! So far, the tulips have only appeared as leaves.

The insects are mostly hummingbirds and bumblebees. Small bees are isolated, but there are no wasps at all. Fly lemongrass, hives and rarely peacock eyes. But for the first time in the new year, I was attacked by some hefty mosquito wintering in my kitchen (I sent it to rest).

Crows nestle, flying and screaming in inhuman voices. Buzzards and sometimes wasp-eaters circle in the stratosphere, but no falcons are visible yet (we most often have chegloks nesting). I saw a huge goshawk sitting in a tree and counting the passing electric trains.

Frogs are still scarce, but gray toads are plentiful.

Where are the photos of flowering shrubs and their pollinators? I envy your frogs, our frogs haven't even started yet, they only croak occasionally. There are no lemon drops (I saw one on April 1 and that's all). By the way, it didn't get any warmer than that day. Well, a very long spring! Bees and other insects fly out rather from the inability to wait any longer, rather than from the onset of completely favorable weather. And only active for a couple of hours around noon. Today, though almost 19 degrees, but again overcast.

I think it's for me.
So I didn't have much time to watch them. I photographed the butterfly at the request of my wife, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to the neighbor's garden.
The gardening season has begun. More precisely, I started it last weekend.

20.04.2021 0:23, ИНО

Naturally, you will. When I started typing the post, I haven't unsubscribed AVA yet. No, with such a neglected form of workaholism, and naturpofigism, when even a large butterfly to take a picture without someone's requests has neither the strength nor the desire, it generally becomes unclear: why are you still dreaming, in the sense of on this forum?

We have coots nesting in every puddle, although in spring and autumn their concentration will be more summer. But there are plenty of them in summer, too. Reeds are smaller, and they are more secretive, but still not uncommon. But from ducks, except mallards, in the summer it is extremely rare to see someone. So, if you want ornithological excursions, you need to forge iron without leaving the ticket office. However, 4 kg of additional cargo makes me feel unwillingsmile.gif, I'd rather continue to make a mess of it, especially since I'm much more successful at it than at birding.

Speaking of birds, Alex, don't you grow mushrooms?

The message was edited INO-04/20/2021 00: 24

20.04.2021 6:29, alex017

With you, probably, because the interest has not yet died, as to fishing.
I don't grow mushrooms, I don't have a barn or cellar to store them in, and I don't have the time or money to make them.

20.04.2021 8:09, ИНО

What kind of money, what kind of cellar? I'm not talking about growing for sale. Vaughn, I have a picture of a log with an oyster mushroom, it stands on the balcony, the financial cost of growing it is 0 all year round. And in your "garden" you can put hundreds of such logs. And they bring the harvest in the cold, when fruits and vegetables are sleeping.

20.04.2021 10:50, alex017

Everything needs to be done, and time is the most valuable thing. It's never enough. A huge number of small things that need to be done. Even when everything is more or less debugged, configured, automated and works flawlessly, it needs maintenance, and I have a lot of equipment. Sometimes something breaks. Someone needs to be fed, someone needs to be watered. Spray from pests, fertilize. In parallel with this, mow the grass once a week.
It is necessary to gradually equip a large greenhouse, complete a small one, and make another greenhouse over strawberries. Make new beds. To water. Weeding the garden beds. Plant and harvest crops. Often it's all at the same time. Oh, and finish the fence. Raise the barrel higher. And the optimal time for this is 3 hours after work and one day off.
I'd like some oyster mushrooms, too. Mb after some years I will be able to try.

Here is such a spring
