What about the scarab beetle?

Community and ForumInsects biology and faunisticsWhat about the scarab beetle?

I brought a live scarab to a friend from the Southern Military District of Kazakhstan as a gift. He put him in a bucket, threw some manure, and he rolled balls. A friend asks-do only females roll balls or not? and if it rolls - will there be larvae?

Balls roll around the floor-in order to bury it and eat it in a quiet environment smile.gif

P.S. Did you bring any dead scarabs? wink.gif

The smile.gifdead scarabs remained in Kazakhstan until July 1, when the border checks of passenger cars are lifted. I didn't dare take it all at once...

It lives in the glove compartment of my car. smile.gifInitially, there were three of them, but they rustled too much, so two were released somewhere in the Ryazan region...

Is he going to hang out with our dungheads?

Raptor, well, they write that only the dead are left, and then, until July 1 )))
All caught and taken out for sale to collectors wink.gif

In general, I would also like to find it, they write that it is also found in the south of Ukraine, but rarely comes across. And besides him, we have smaller beetles that also roll balls.

Based on the experience of fishing in the Astrakhan region-they fool around at night smile.gif

... and in the daytime, like bronzes, they fly with a whistle at a decent speed. But it is easier to lure by coping with a "big need". Before you finish, they'll start working as drains.
