In autumn, the yellow moth butterflies look like yellow leaves and hide among them. Their legs, antennae and wing contours become reddish, similar to the red petioles of autumn leaves.

These photos of yolks are made in August-mid-September. The butterflies are yellow or slightly pinkish.

And these photos were taken in late October-early November. Butterflies are brighter, the red color is more pronounced, more consistent with the bright autumn colors of flowers and leaves. This is probably due to the ambient temperature in which the yolk pupae were located.
