Can someone find out what kind of spider it is and whether it is dangerous?

Probably someone from the genus Salticus, but from this angle you can't tell for sure.

Where was this one found-not near the water?

09.10.2007 19:42, Tigran Oganesov

No, it's not one of the jumpers. More like Lycosidae/Pisauridae.

Oh, I'm slowing down! Of course, this is one of the racehorses. redface.gif And I wrote about the spider sent by amenhotepov

Who is this anyway? It was sitting on the wall of a hotel room in Montenegro. The size is about 1-2 mm. Lepidoptera?

30.10.2007 1:10, Tigran Oganesov

It looks like the genus Marmessoidea, but I can't say for sure.

Contact Mikhail Berezin (Insectarium Mosk.zoo) - it will most likely tell you.
Do they eat them alive? smile.gif

Please help me identify mantises.

Peru:

Mant01 - 7.8 cm (pre-Angela guianensis Rehn.)
Mant02 - 3 cm (no idea. I thought it was Ameleinae, but they don't seem to be found in South America. Probably something from the Acontista suite, but there are no qualifiers for this tribe)
Mant03, Mant04 - 6 cm (pre-male Vates pectinata Sauss.)
Mant05, Mant06 - 6.5 cm (pre-male Vates sp.)
Mant07 - 8.6 cm (don't know, in my opinion, similar to male Stagmatoptera)

Malaysia:

Mant08 - 7.8 cm (previously Deroplatys dessicata Westw.)

If necessary, I'll post larger photos.

found on an apple (apples from Poland) under the shield (or rather a group of shields), pupae, less than 1 mm long..

And the second one was found in a capsule on tangerine, it will be larger, a little more than 1 mm.

The first-I think pupae of some small parasitic hymenoptera.

P.S. Allena, do you have anything to do with phytosanitary surveillance by any chance?

10.12.2007 9:46, Аллена

I have, and not by accident.. The only thing is that I am not an entomologist, but a phytopathologist. We are inclined to believe that the first some kind of leaf blocks.. But with the second eound srvsem something incomprehensible

10.12.2007 10:02, omar

Is it an insect at all?

10.12.2007 12:52, Bad Den

Leaf blocks? Or the male scutes...?

or maybe some strays.. it's just that the orisanias of the vagabonds themselves are almost nowhere to be found, and if they are, they are very few.

Found it in the stem of a cruciferous flower. I don't even know what it is. Beetle larva or caterpillar?

The first is almost one hundred percent Hymenoptera pupae, something like Chalcidoidea, and the second looks like a beetle larva or a reticulate wing. If it was found in the capsule, then it is probably parasites of scutes (first photo) or predators, possibly reticuloptera or ladybirds (second photo). Try contacting specialists in hymenoptera or biomethod (entomophages and parasites of scutes, false scutes, etc.)

I think it's an adult female, but I don't know much about beetles, so I might be wrong.

I know that the caterpillars of either volnyanok or khokhlatok make such gnawings on linden leaves. BUT I didn't write it down, and now I can't remember or find it. Can someone tell me?

Calliteara pudibunda
Lymantria sp.
Phalera bucephala
Ptilodon capucina
is a species that feeds on lime trees. In my opinion, this is what Phalera bucephala does...

It seems to me that Phalera bucephala disappears. I took pictures of its caterpillars-they eat the leaf along the edge to the central vein.

I'm sorry! redface.gif Right here www.ecosystema.ru/08nature/insects/74.php it can be seen that young caterpillars eat out the windows in the leaves eek.gif
