And then we recently published a note by colleagues from the Department of Ecology of the Tauride National University (former SSU) about the alleged pioneer of this species and are very proud of it smile.gif

I first heard about this species (Transcaucasus) from S. P. Ivanov (TNU) in September 2005. He then said that the species was found on Kazantip and that it is very rare. A year ago, I learned from D. Puzanov (TNU) that the view in the Crimea is common. As I saw for myself in the last season (before that, I unknowingly mixed Transcaucasics with religion).

The old definitions do not include Transcaucasia for Crimea. Maybe only by the end of the century moved?

As for Ameles taurica Jak., who and when brought it into synonyms to heldreichi is unknown. The species confidently differs from the Mediterranean representatives of the latter (and in the original article by Yakovleva, the differences are clearly spelled out).

(Sorry for the offtopicsmile.gif)

Mention of the Crimean pilgrim was also found in Plavilshchikov (1950), literally the following:

"Psp. short, not longer than P. tazikov. The eyes are conical, with a bump at the top. 1st hl. s. of the foot is short; ndkr. strongly shortened. 1 view. - Crimean bogomolchik (A. taurica B. Jak.): brownish-gray, with small black dashes and spots, the sides of the psp. in females with black spines; ndkr. in males, they reach the top of the br., in females, they cover only the 1st ring of it. Cr. in males are given out from under the ndcr., colorless, with dark w., in females och. small, with a black-violet spot. 22-27 mm. Crimea."

But Bolivaria brachyptera from the south-eastern Crimea

And the egg-shaped larva from the same place

Can I link to Yakovleva's article? or, if it is possible to do it, I will be immensely grateful...

This is probably one of the most common Crimean sacks of Ptilocephala plumifera (Ochsenheimer, 1810) - a fluffy sac. It is found from Feodosia to Sevastopol, and maybe wider. This year, it has been flying in places since the first decade of March.

Please comment on the spider (sem. wolf spiders?). 20.04.08 Trans-Ili Alatau.

This is a spider from sem. Salticidae - jumping spiders. Only a specialist in the laboratory will most likely be able to determine up to the species.

Spider sem. Gnaphosidae are nocturnal hunters. Before the view , do the same.

Help us identify who you photographed.
Forest near Moscow, sitting on the branches of a young maple tree.
Size 3-4 cm. sees very well. From three to five meters away from me when I walked around the trees for a better angle. It couldn't get close, so it jumped off the branch and disappeared into the foliage.

This, unfortunately, is a female, it is impossible to reliably determine the species from the photo.

This is a T-shirt beetle (Meloe sp.). Here there is a separate topic on the identification of beetles, there specialists will probably tell you the type.

Firefighters, it seems, all their lives were called softbugs. And these - soldiers.

It depends on the region. We have several types of fillies called firemen (from locust). Just like with the May beetle-somewhere so glafiridus is called, somewhere Khrushchev, and we have pentodons.
