Y, the main expert found the topic, well, that's it, the steam heating is gone weep.gif

Only with your submission, sir. I would never have thought to wander around there and scrupulously look at all the photos. If not for pan, then even now the site "Wasps of Russia" would have the status of the best in Runet, which, as it turned out, the enemy Google still believes. And now trust has been undermined, and it has become obvious that there is no other competent Russian-language resource on this topic, except this forum. True, Pan Stepovoi himself began to pore over something like this, but it stalled. The launch of Ukroblin is probably waiting.

So, "turning on my head and reading the site," I finally found who, according to the author of the site, called the beautifully photographed lacerticide cryptocheilus. By the way, the task was not the easiest, it turns out that for this you had to go to the personal photo gallery of Vladimir Longinovich, hidden in the bowels.

Sergey Lvovich Zonshtein from Tel Aviv University, in a previous life ( before emigrating to the Promised Land) - arachnologist. Ad and Israel (C)Pan Stepovoi.

Anything can happen. For example, in Pedivikia, on the page with Katamenes arbustorum, there is a photo of Eumenes papillarius. I haven't figured out how to fix it - it's been hanging there for a dozen years. http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katamenes

I agree! Bloopers are everywhere. I also found outright blunders on the" Zinovsky " site, when the name did not go with the "picture" and on very good sites on tortricides, the genitals of males belonged to other species. I don't see anything wrong with that!
I myself sometimes use this resource for wasps, more for instructions on the distribution of species, and for ants only here! So it seems to me that "attacks" are unnecessary here. The person in the first post said thank you for your comments and said that they would correct you if you were right. Once again, you spread "politivism" with mutual insults! frown.gif

Thank you so much for your support. I asked V. M. Loktionov to check these 3 photos and he confirmed the error. I'll fix it within a day. Thank you all for your help.

Female Dasypoda sp. Previously, I would have said that D. hirtipes, but now, after describing a similar and equally widespread species last year, I don't know.

Working foragers usually run around. If you bring them in, they will die pretty quickly. And everything. Sometimes it happens that females move from nest to nest along the trail with foragers. It's rare, but it happens. But they are immediately noticeable because of the size and hesitant movements. But even one female with a dozen workers is not enough for them to take root in a new place. I caught such females with workers - they never took root in the formicarium. They can settle in another house if you bring a family with females there. Families of this species have many nests with a large number of females. Because the nests of pharaohs can be anywhere (a box of medicines, a bag of cereals, a stack of bed linen, any cavities in furniture and household items...) then it is quite possible to enter them.

There is nothing to think about here, P. dominula is 100%. Note the relatively short and thick last segments of the antennae. And this color is rare in other species.

Good afternoon dear forumchane! Help me identify Xylocopa.

Good afternoon dear ones! I wrote it recently and asked for help in determining it. Please, someone-respond!

It seems to be a male, as you can clearly see six tergites, and the last one ends earlier than the abdomen should end, so there should be a seventh one. If it is a male, then X. valga, since there is no orange spot on the antennae. But all this is poorly visible, so the definition should be considered as probabilistic.

Hello! Is it possible to identify this one?
Moscow region, Shatursky district, platf district. Woodlands, larva 02 August 2017 on the fern Pteridium aquilinum, imago - 26 August 2017.
I'm leaning towards Aneugmenus coronatus or A. padi, but I can't choose which one.
