Please identify the lazy ant. Foothills, Almaty.
The colony of ants is located on the top of a hill among dried grass, at an altitude of 1100 m above sea level. The nests are built in the ground and the entrances are barely visible. The worker caste is polymorphic, small ants are 3-4 mm long, the entire body is black, and the last segment of the abdomen is translucent. Ants move slowly, lazily walking around their territory. In case of alarm, raise the abdomen vertically up and spray acid. Such a threatening pose is characteristic of this particular species

where can I see it on an insect? rolleyes.gif

This may come as a surprise to you, but many insects have wings. Often insects have 4 wings. Two pairs. The pair of wings that is closer to the head is usually called the front one. It's these front fenders that you need to look at.
On pages 15-16 of the book you are quoting, there are drawings of the wings of hymenopteran insects. And on page 18 it is described in detail what different abbreviations from the figures mean. Take a look, you can easily find radio communication cells there.
If you have any problems finding the front wings of bees, please contact us. We will help you.
