Good afternoon! Please help me determine

Extremely similar to Callimenus multituberculatus.

25.10.2017 15:54, Zlopastnyi Brandashmyg

It is better not to indicate the point publicly! If it's him, of course.

I believe that the fears that the next discovered habitat of the fat man will be invaded by collectors are greatly exaggerated. The find (if it is recent, of course) should be published in any case.

Ground beetles were collected and soil traps were set in the steppe. Tolstun hit in the first decade of July...if it's him, of course...

25.10.2017 16:51, Dracus

If collected in the Russian Federation, then exactly it. We don't have any other callimenuses.

25.10.2017 16:51, ИНО

You at least specify the region, otherwise it is possible that Fedot Tolstun, but not the one.

Special studies have not been conducted, so it is difficult to say with what frequency it reproduces. In the literature, this is 4-5 years.

Here is a question. Can a grasshopper be identified by its voice? I've heard it seems to be well defined.

I repent: I didn't recognize this view. I can give you a hint: about 20 years ago, a monograph (author K.-G. Heller) was published on the acoustics of European grasshoppers, with a lot of waveforms. Unfortunately, I don't have an electronic (or paper) version of the book.

It looks like an Aiolopus of some sort. With thick thighs, it should be Ai. strepens - although perhaps the angle is misleading me.

Here's a slightly different angle and top view. It seems that the pronotum of strepens and thalassinus is different. True, there may still be a simulatrix.

Thank you. Now I see that the proportions of the hips are clearly not "Prussian"). Judging by the number of teeth on the outer upper edge of the hind legs, this is Heteracris, and it is hardly possible to distinguish adspersa from littoralis from the photo. Although I shot on the coastal dunes).
