I want to clarify the definitions of ditiscids from the Czech Republic (pictures by Josef Dvořák). Are they all correct?..
The first image was identified by its author as Rhantus exsoletus. It seems wrong, but it's a pity, because it was our kind... I wonder if R. fennica goes to the Urals? And do our Eastern European beetles of these species differ from those in the pictures? For example, it seemed to me that Scarodytes halensis from the Urals is often redder...
Thank you in advance for your hints.

Again I have a question about non-native (Made in Tanzania) fauna, this time - staphylin. The size of Emus hirtus.

Thanks! The back edge is almost straight to the seam on each side, with only minor bumps. Is it considered wavy or straight?

It feels wavy. Xyleborinus saxesenii Ratz. very similar! you need to watch up to 100%. Please always write the dimensions, where and on what you collected them. Tomicus is very simple.

And I, here, also have two non-native harpalinkas. SE India, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad. The length of the first is about 15 mm, the second - about 10 mm.

melolontha melolontha differs from hippocastani best in how the last tegrit is elongated - in melolontha it is long and relatively thick, and in hippocastani it is very short and narrow. I can't remember any other differences.
And so it looks like the second one is hippokastani.

Platyderus most likely caprea

1 and 2 - eastern may beetle Melolontha hippocastani. The shape of the pygidium process differs from the western one in males, the western process is long, if you look along the body at an obtuse angle, and the eastern process is at a right angle, shorter and with an intercept. And in the western elytra
, 3 - horned Platycerus is more "yellow"(there are two species of ground beetle P. caraboides and willow - P. caprea in the MO), it is almost impossible to determine from this angle.
4-narrow wing from the Oedemera river, the species can be determined by size, if 5-8 mm - O. lurida, if 10-13 mm-O. virescens
