Yeah, the quadripunctatus is flatter and more elongated. Here it is: http://www.zin.ru/Animalia/Coleoptera/eng/gliquakm.htm

G. quadripunctatus I have, with your area as just

G. quadripunctatus I have, with your area just

Both of them are common in our country. They begin to meet on birch sap.

03.05.2010 18:33, Алексей Сажнев

I collected under the bark of pine trees in the tenth of April

03.05.2010 18:37, vasiliy-feoktistov

I gathered pine trees under the bark in the tenth of April

Under their bark, the imago winters (in general, I collected it in November). By the way, it is G. quadripunctatus that is most often found under pine bark.

Our (Saratov) sareptanum are quite different, although I have seen boxes with them from different regions, and the variability is also strong

there is such a thing as sareptanum euxinum (formerly kubanicum) - it is quite it.

1) Aspen? Aegomorphus clavipes is similar, but I'm not sure, I'll be glad if they fix it.
2) Platycerus caraboides (male).
P. S. #1 isn't Leiopus linnei Wallin, Nylander & Kvamme, 2009?

1. pumilus in "green" = vernalis. In general, it is better to study Kataev's work on the group of pumilus species
2. Hydroporus some IMHO. Here I pass.

2. Hydroporus sp. At first I thought on planus, but it is usually more than 4 mm long and the body shape is slightly different. But I advise you to check it out. In general, this is a complex genus.

And what is different from caprea? In" green " only caraboides and caucasicus.

And what is different from caprea? In the" green " only caraboides and caucasicus.

Take a look here:
http://www.zin.ru/ANIMALIA/Coleoptera/rus/platyce2.htm
Based on my observations, I will also add that I only met bronze females with red legs in caraboides (I determined by the male when I found mating individuals).

P. caraboides in the picture. P. caprea is dark blue and has larger mandibles.

The color and size of the mandibles in capri vary greatly and cannot be a diagnostic sign. But the shape of the mandibles is another matter-see the link given by Dmitrich.
