The pronotum is poorly visible, but it is quite possible - tereticollis. fulvicornis is usually more convex, the elytra are more strongly expanded posteriorly and the color is usually reddish

On the inner side of the shin there are two rows of spines and bristles, which one should I count?

I have most specimens with 8-9 bristles or spines, sometimes with an unequal number on the left and right, for example 7 and 9.At the same time, the head is from slightly dotted to smooth (like versicolor). The pronotum tapers at the base to varying degrees(from almost equal to the base to clearly narrower than the base of the elytra), the base of the pronotum is never strictly equal to the base of the elytra, there is almost always a spike, but the size, size and color of beetles vary greatly. The traps often catch males of one species with females of another and vice versa. It is very rare to come across individuals of a particular species with a full set of clear species characteristics.

174: similar to Amara (Xenocelia) ingenua Duftschmid, 1812
legs not visible, but judging by the shiny surface of the elytra, it is a male.

By the way, today I was identifying my specimen and found that it has an unequal number of bristles on the middle thighs (this is a strong defining sign), namely 4 and 3.

4 setae take the definition down the wrong path.

The pronotum shape is similar to that of P. pini and P. validirostris, but differs in points in the elytra grooves (compared by equal-sized specimens). The dots are square, smaller than in P. pini, but larger than in P. validirostris. beetle size 6 mm (without head)

Ilya, I'm waiting for your verdict! It can't be the mythical P. gyllenhali???Do you know any signs that reliably breed these species? Hairiness in my case does not "roll" - the beetle is bald...

I took a copy to Moscow Time, looked at N. B. Nikitsky, compared it with different smolevki and made a verdict that it was not P. gyllenhali, but rather a small and aberrant P. pini...

Thanks for the information. This, of course, was to be expected. A bit of a pity that P. gyllenhali was never found. It is related to spruce (Picea abies) and apparently occurs only where spruce grows in its native range.

The pronotum of Gyllenhal's tarpaulin is much narrower than the base of the elytra, and the points in the grooves and the spaces between them are also different... P. pini, like mine, has unequal spaces, some narrow, others wider and protruding higher, in SG they are monotonous. But all the same, the sample of SG was small and mostly from Kamchatka, and only 1 copy. from the Khibiny Mountains. And Kamchatka is different from Khibiny...

Yeah, ragius. And to be even more precise - black - spotted ragweed-Rhagium mordax (De Geer, 1775). And, of course, this beetle has nothing to do with Kenya, Ecuador and Colombia .
