Help us identify mol.gifeverything from Moscow and the Region.

1. Tenebrio sp. (Tenebrionidae). Can I have a larger pronotum? This is either T. molitor or T. obscurus.

barbel - Agapanthia violacea or intermedia. But it is very difficult to say exactly what kind of view, especially from the photo.

In fact, it seems correct. I just don't know what it looks like. I will assume that Phyllobrotica quadrimaculata. Although I may be wrong.

29.05.2008 18:50, Fornax13

How about Ph. elegans Kraatz?

29.05.2008 19:05, Buzman

Yes, it looks like Ph. elegans. But the spot near the shield is somewhat reduced and too clearly defined... wall.gif

Only 3 species are known from Europe: Ph. quadrimaculata, Ph. adusta, and Ph. elegans. With a completely black head only Ph. elegans Kraatz, 1866. In green for Ciscaucasia is indicated.

To Fornax13: But there is also Phyllobrotica frontalis Weise, 1886 (aka Ph. humeralis Kraatz, 1891). Also with a black head, although it is specified for the Caucasus.

Well, judging by the photo of frontalis (and by the name smile.gif), then her head is not completely black - after all, her forehead is red.

Colleagues, do you agree with the definition of staff? In my opinion, something very interesting-I didn't understand smile.gifit yet, there is an assumption that there is some kind of Micrillus. Judging by its habit, it is a very soil-dwelling animal smile.gif

Thank you gentlemen for your attention! I myself am a ram in entomology (however, as well as in botany) (10 classes), but sometimes I photograph what is caught in the lens. I'll spread it out a little bit. If you have any suggestions for photos , we will try to take them into account. I will be glad if my photos are useful to you. beer.gif

Cool beetles! And the report?

This is it, a photosmile.gifreport. Beginning. Now the abscesses, to Milabris.
Except for the first T-shirt (from Orenburg region), all from Ustyurt, April. After May 1, not a single melonid was caught.
The second, black T-shirt is very large, 4-5 cm.

Dates and periods in file names (the first one is Orenburg region, Gubernia settlement; the others are Ustyurt district, Kokusem well).
There are some instances, but very fewfrown.gif
Mylabris smaragdina-was quite numerous. But very small (5-7 mm). I have 3 copies
of "Mylabris sedecimpunctata" - all were with such points or without them at all.

And here is another nrvnik (11-14 mm) from Kokusem (also on May 1, 2008):
