Come on, come on-but you have various other rare species coming across!
Last year we had a lot of bedstraw hawks on the phlox, and the caterpillars were sitting on the bedstraw. Sometimes I found corpses on the road - people pressed mad.gifIt is a bad year, there are not enough caterpillars of all kinds, hawkmoth do not fly over phlox.
And I also have a problem with the caterpillar of the wine hawk moth-last fall it pupated, perfectly wintered on the glazed balcony, and in the bundle it shriveled up and died, no one hatched, not even parasites weep.gif

I got tangled up in the dustpans. Maybe someone will recognize it? There are similar species, but this one has a dark head and crimson legs. Crawling along the pine tree. When she saw me, she fell into the moss and let out a trickle of green liquid.
Moscow region, late June.

It is all the more insulting not to meet those caterpillars that others see as a shaft.
About caterpillars and butterflies this year I completely agree (however, we are looking for them in almost the same area, you are in Kubinka and the surrounding area, and I am in Petelino in Gar-Pokrovsky) This year started well, the May vacation brought a lot of new things, and then as cut off. No caterpillars are almost invisible, no butterflies fly to the light. Aspens and willows in the forest are all covered with sores, shriveled, blackened leaves. However, harpies still come across... And not a single (!) swallowtail caterpillar on the railway in the forest. And last year, my son and I counted more than a hundred of them in one pass.

Hello, I recently found in the Moscow region Strelchatku Psi and Kistekhvostku spotted. So the problem is that I had to return to Moscow and I can't figure out what to give them to eat. They used to have fir and elm irgi leaves, but now I don't even know what to give them... confused.gif
I tore up birch leaves, oak leaves, even lilac leaves, and some other things, I can't even remember which ones, but they don't eat anything! It seems that they are still too early to pupate. Please help, tell me!

Hello, please tell me what's wrong with my caterpillar.
Since mid-August, I have been living with Strelchatka Psy along with Kistekhvostka mottled. This morning, I suddenly discovered that the Sagittarius Psi had "woven" a small cocoon of cobwebs behind it and was acting suspiciously active. Then I came back in the late afternoon and noticed that she was sitting not far from this spider web and under it some small translucent white cocoon, and in this cocoon it was as if something dark was moving. Are these some kind of parasites? If so, what to do with this cocoon (she is still sitting on it). And whether it is necessary to otsazhivat from it Kistekhvostku? Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to take a photo. Please tell me!

Scoops of Euclidia glyphica.

you .....
And whether it is necessary to otsazhivat from it Kistekhvostku?

"Yes, they must be parasites. "Behind themselves" caterpillars do not weave cocoons.
- I think it is better to keep different types of caterpillars separately.

Yesterday I found a caterpillar on dill. I take it it's a swallowtail?" But late August, Siberia.. what do I need to do when she pupates so that she can overwinter normally? Should I put it in the refrigerator or take it out on the veranda so that the temperature is like outside? (it can reach -40 degrees in winter)
