I never learned to tell Carpocoris apart. Can you tell me what species of Carpocoris live in St. Petersburg? And in general, how many Carpocoris species are there in Europe and which ones?

From this photo, you can determine up to the appearance? Saint Petersburg, 20.09.2015

You should have only 2 species there: Carpocoris fuscispinus (Boheman, 1851) and the one in your photo-Carpocoris purpureipennis (De Geer, 1773). In general, there are 5 species in Europe, and 8.

2-Stictopleurus sp., just by the genitals.

These are bedbugs. I don't know the type, or rather I know it well, but I've never been interested in the name. In autumn, the rod often enters human dwellings. In "tree-eating" they were not noticed, in" human-eating " they were also noticed. But if you grab it with your hand, you can prick it with your proboscis.

Carpocoris mediterraneus is now a synonym for Carpocoris fuscispinus?

12.10.2015 21:52, Triplaxxx

On the basis of a number of signs, a number of authors reasonably consider it a good view:

Lupoli, Dusoulier, Cruaud, Cros-Arteil & Streito_2013_Morphological, biogeographical and molecular evidence of Carpocoris mediterraneus as a valid species (Pentatomidae).
