To AGG
" Zhapanskaya " trap is probably made of polyethylene, judging by the photo (I downloaded it, but tried to look at it in magnification) - a rectangular piece hung out with a cone. The top is attached to three points, the bottom-middle is attached to the ground, under this" point " a bath with a lock. And the edges are slightly tightened to the top. In order not to tear, the "zhapants" made holes like those of street tripwires. I.e. some kind of metal. ring + a piece of thick cloth. We should try it... Everything is not a piece of glass to carry...
People, who knows what natural traps??? Let's share!!!
I know two myself:
1. In the city, I collect all sorts of animals from fountains (not water). They fly either to the water, or just get knocked down by jets. True, there are problems - they rot quickly, and it is difficult to get them out, especially if the fountain is large.
2. If there are large piles of sand (construction sites or silicate plants) under a combination of circumstances-dry weather, a steep slope with "flowing" sand, a good flight at the foot of such a slope A LOT of animals, especially beetles and bedbugs, as rather clumsy flyers.

I found the idea of traps made from 2-liter plastic bottles interesting http://www.fcla.edu/FlaEnt/fe85p656.pdf (37 kb). The author used it to catch actively flying insects, as well as in open spaces and in strong winds.
Although I would probably hang them on trees and replace them with 5-liter square water cans. You need to hang down the throat, in the wide side there is a large cutout-a window, the throat is a natural storage device with a retainer.

Right here http://ins86.narod.ru/lovla.htm a simple light trap without "auto-jamming". The idea seemed interesting to me, I'm finishing this one for myself. I wonder how effective it will be to catch?

- for those who don't understand English very well, to put it mildly ;- )- in a nutshell-what is the principle of the trap? Why do insects have to get into bottles - there, as I understand it, is not a bait, but a retainer?

It's not a trap, it's a screen smile.gif
Touching: they hang a lamp on a stick just like we do! I thought that the bourgeoisie had some special racks! smile.gif

And then all that flew-straighten wink.gif

And then all that flew-straighten wink.gif

First, you still need to collect! wink.gif
Actually, I think so. For faunalists, a trap is better: good people-we sleep, it works... and the insects are collected, not missed. And for the collector or specialist - screen: you can choose smile.gif

And here's another one smile.gif
All this is bogastvo - in Taiwan

In Kyrgyzstan, we also caught on the screen for the sake of legibility (it was like in a Thai photo, and 80 percent - one mass view). So, I was also covered with butterflies in the same way, and even more: they were sitting on my hat in a solid layer! cool.gif There is a photo, but it didn't work out very well. If I find the time , I'll upload it and post it.

Here is an article in English on fishing for light, there are also instructions for making a simple trap.

I bought myself a ready-made "Robinson type" from them-I can't get enough of it. I doubt, however, that they ship abroad.

Another advantage of the traps discussed there is that they do not kill the catch, after accounting, you can freeze the interesting, and let the rest go.
