I do not know about steel. For tattoos I use pins of black color, they look more aesthetic (if only ENTOMOLOGICAL) And for straightening, in my opinion, any (including ordinary stationery) is suitable.

I'll share my experience with entomology stores.

Entosphinx - they send orders slowly, but the quality of the ordered equipment is beyond praise.
Paradox Company - they send the order much faster, but there are unpleasant incidents in terms of quality. In particular, in my last order there were straighteners, which turned out to be made either of birch or oak - very hard, I had to throw them out.Although their website says that they are fake... In addition, I ordered a carbon fiber net handle (telescopic) - the bolt was simply glued to the tape, after the first day of use, the handle became unusable.
Entomon is a very fast and high-quality service, but the prices are much higher than in Europe. However, I prefer to order straighteners from them - the quality is excellent. I was not satisfied with the boxes bought in Entomon: despite their beauty, the design is not thought out - the spike is just in the middle, if the lid is "knocked off" when putting on, it catches pins and spoils the material.

And I switched to stainless steel. Black ones rust easily and without problems, but do we need it?

At the beginning of the topic, there was a question about an entomology shop in Prague, but no answer was received. Can someone tell me if it is there, as I plan a trip to Prague in the near future?

I switched to Shiga last year. Stainless steel is less aesthetic, more springy, but it does not rust and the varnish does not peel off.

Horror. Or do it yourself from a lime tree. Who can I trust?

When buying a straightener "made of abash wood" in Store No. 1, I had to go through a dozen copies to find an acceptable pin insertion force. Fortunately, I was allowed to do this: -)

I didn't have this opportunity. I bought it online. From now on and forever - only balsa.

I make stationary straighteners from balsa, such as in the pictures:

true, they are not available now, but I will soon make the next batch... If someone is interested , I accept pre-orders. Price tag-400 rubles.

1. If the package in the trash to the left of the straightener is a liter, then I wonder what is the size of the discarded straightener?..
2. And also, before life is over, should we think about where the road will eventually lead, first past the oak, then past the linden or poplar, then past the balsa...

mine is 40 cm long!

Are there really only shops in Pardubice? What nonsense, there's not a single one in the capital? Friends gathered in Prague, can someone tell me the address of the store in Prague itself? I don't think they'll go to Pardubice for my pins.

Well, or so: what's so good about Pardubice apart from the entomology shop? smile.gif

Colleagues, who received orders by parcel from entosphinx? I wanted to buy a couple of Bozano books from them, and at the same time a box and all sorts of small things, and when I tried to calculate the approximate cost of shipment (UPS), it turned out that it would be three times more expensive than the order itself. Is this really the case? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Maybe there are other places (not abroad) where you can order such books?

I did. I ordered a bunch of books 2 pieces and pins. Sending to Ukraine was via EMS, I did not choose a postal operator, Eva herself wrote that the delivery was by EMS. The delivery cost seems to be 30-35 bucks (the weight seems to be up to 3 kg was). The parcel arrived in 5 days.

As for me, the best option is to write directly to Eva (she speaks excellent Russian) - tell her what you want to buy and ask her to calculate the delivery cost.

And the gap is adjustable or the "buttons are sewn" according to Raikin?

Good afternoon! I am a regular customer (although I probably was) of the store http://www.entomon.ru/online/. I bought Ethyl Acetate from them a few months ago (product code EA-09) and, unfortunately, without checking it, I went on an expedition with it. As usual, I filled up the butterflies, but after a couple of minutes I found that the butterflies in them absolutely "do not die" (sorry, they fall asleep). As it turned out, the whole thing is in defective ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate was yellow, but it should be colorless. And unfortunately, this situation with Ethyl Acetate in this store is not the first.

P.S. It is a pity that the owner of this store does not appreciate his customers.

But when preparing for a tripwink.gif, the entomologist must be sure of all the necessary devicesumnik.gif. They must pass either previous tests, or be able to be repaired in the field, or be tested before the expedition with an experienced eye.
And if it's not the first time you get caught with the purchased productwall.gif, then the blame falls entirely on the shoulders of the one who continues to buy an unverified productconfused.gif.

Dear Yopidou,

Entomon Entomology store thanks you for your message, although it is not friendly to us. I am extremely sorry that we let you down, as you think.

For 7 years of our work (since 2007), this is the first complaint (and immediately public!). And the quality of the entomological products offered is a matter of honor for us.

We are ready to immediately compensate for all your losses, including moral ones. Please let us know when, what, and how much you purchased from Entomon of poor quality. Service verification is guaranteed. We'll deal with the suppliers. For the common good.

Regarding ethyl acetate – below is the passport of the last purchased batch.

Dear nnsb, Ethyl acetate 0.90 kg (1000 ml) was purchased. The first time last year, there are no complaints about it. The" poorly performing " ethyl acetate was purchased in April 2014 (most likely the previous batch). If necessary, I can bring it to the fair with the appropriate checks.
