Dear Mr. Collector,
it always seemed to me that the term "sale" means lowering the "base" price of an item. And this is not only in Russian. For English speakers “ "Sale – a time when shops sell things at LOWER prices" (Czechs, by the way, have a more expressive term for such cases - Sliv).

I, of course, am stupid; but explain, plz, to me, stupid,

how is it possible to "sell" at inflated (in relation to previous offers of the same product by the same seller) prices? You "threw" 100 rubles on the price, which "hangs-hangs" on http://www.zoocollection.narod.ru/books/sale1/
and they called it a "sale" (adding for some reason: "prices are minimal"

).
