Comparison of entomological boxes from different manufacturers

Community and ForumEntomological collectionsComparison of entomological boxes from different manufacturers

Peter Khramov, 02.07.2013 12:35

So, I propose to meet in some Moscow institution on weekdays in the evening or on a weekend. I will bring with me about 10 different models of boxes from different manufacturers:

— Roman / Romyald
— Svyatoslav / Konung
-Lepstore (improved loop plus classics with and without glass 30x40 plus, possibly, a variant with a painting)
- Boxes from the Czech
Republic— And from Italy

I will be interested in your opinions, so that it is more convenient to create an assortment according to your wishes and you can make more detailed descriptions on the site, and I think people will be interested to see live and compare different models from different manufacturers.

Well, and at the same time just chat over a cup of tea/coffee/beer/vodka, get acquainted who else is unfamiliar.

If someone can bring additional options that I won't have — in general, it's great, it will be even more interesting.
If anyone wants to see something else (not boxes) from the store's assortment at the same time, please let us know, it is quite possible that I can grab it.

Date / Time
As a weekend, for example, Saturday, 20 (or 27?). Speak out in this topic, to whom it is convenient, respectively, closer to the point, we will choose the final version.

Place
As a bar establishment, I suggest John Don on Taganskaya Street http://www.john-donne.ru/our_pubs/ul.-verx...radishhevskaya/ (if someone will be with bored wives/mothers-in-law/children, they can be sent to Jean-Jacques, which is right there), if the mood is exclusively dessert, then you can go to the coffee shop on Pyatnitskaya http://www.coffeebean.ru/coffee-houses/mos...ya-address.html. For those who want-afterparty in" Belfast " nearby;--)
If anyone has any alternative suggestions for the place - do not hesitate to offer. I would love to try out something new.

Write if you think something about the topic (and at the same time mark who goes first) or vote if you don't think anything :--)

I think that the best place for such discussions could be the nearest Entomological Fair. Quite a lot of forum participants will gather there and the ratings for the products will be very objective.
We must not forget that products made for analysis and advertising can be several orders of magnitude superior in quality to ordinary products (made, as they say, "in the flow of everyday life"). Therefore, the Fair would be an excellent place for an Entomological exam, because it is possible to bring products purchased earlier and, possibly, made "carelessly". At the same time, it will be possible to see progress in the development of production quality ( by comparing the original samples with those provided at the fair).
You also need to take into account the buyer's preference for a particular seller. You understand that a collector who buys boxes from the same manufacturer is unlikely to agree to change the master. Some of them will not agree at all that gold glitters, and will say that iron is better than gold. This is their right, their choice, and we must respect it ( although this is strange).
And then, why these comparisons? What does this mean for the Entomological Community? Only bickering and reproaches. And what will these victorious laurels do? Only failures in the supply of products and loss of quality. My company is already working at the limit, we can't make more than a hundred boxes a month without losing quality.
Therefore, it is better to reallocate our efforts and work in one direction, and how sales will go depends on the manufacturers themselves.
Another issue is the possibility of completely replacing imports with domestic samples. I believe that this task is the most important! In fact, why buy something abroad that you can buy in your own country? And in a better version.

I always remember the cartoon about Mowgli, remember how the jackal put his ear to the Ground and said: "These are buffaloes, they are coming to our mouth", to which the king of the jungle Sherkhan replied: "Fool! Who can handle a whole herd?"
I hope you understand the meaning of the association mol.gif.

Roman, I think you misunderstood my idea. I'm not suggesting that we try out who has the longest, give the winner a gold medal and then shout about it on every street corner. I suggest that people who are interested in the choice look at several options in one place, without ordering anything from anyone, without spending money on the purchase and without waiting for deliveries from each manufacturer. And at the same time to drink/chat.
What does it have to do with squabbling, supply disruptions, collector preferences, and the fair that will be held in two months?..

Dear Peter, I don't understand why this survey is needed at all, we have already done this with the survey Who has the best boxes? The forum already has its own manufacturers of boxes that have proven themselves, and also take photos of their products from all angles, and gather in a cafe to look at and discuss the boxes. For example, I will never buy Italian or Czech ones at tridorogo, when Roman and EntomolodzhIbox produces high-level boxes, and Knyazev is already catching up to a good level of manufacturing. And their prices are divine and you can negotiate if you want beer.gif
Don't be offended by my statement.
PS: I also wanted to suggest that you wait until September and show the products at the fair and conduct a survey on the spot, there are already more and more people there every year smile.gif

But after all, the topic of the survey sounds exactly like this-Comparison of boxes, and this is exactly what is meant by the concept - better/worse. And then how can clients touch, for example, my exhibits that you don't have in stock? This is for example: a portable suitcase with straighteners for field work, a double-sided suitcase for storing and carrying insects, souvenir frames, etc., etc.It would not be bad to invite representatives of these manufacturing companies, because there will be various questions about the production time, finishing options. Any other questions? You can't promise a customer for any of the manufacturers that such a batch of such products will be made by a certain date. For example, I have all orders already scheduled until November, and it will be problematic for me to cram a batch of more than five boxes.
And you also forgot to take into account my namesake from Vladimir - Roman Nikolaevich, and in fact they also spoke positively for his quality on the forum!

Here it is, the key phrase! And if a person urgently needed boxes? You are having an affair, and you can only buy it after a certain number of months. It seems to me that Peter wants to find out in an informal setting what alternative to Romyald boxes can be offered to Russian entomologists. I support the idea of a meeting.

Roman, okay, tomorrow we will still meet with you offline, there will be an opportunity to discuss the topic if there is such a misunderstanding online.

And here I will draw an analogy:

Chel grit — I have a dozen accessories from five different manufacturers-Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, Fuji. People, they say, let's meet in a bar, drink a beer, discuss what and how — you can feel/compare everything live, otherwise there is no such set in one place anywhere in offline stores, but I am interested in your reviews...

Tell. What does the following comments have to do with it? Do we live on the same planet or not? What are you talking about?

— Yes, in a couple of months there will be a photo exhibition in Crocusexpo, there may not be Fuji, but there will be Olympus and many others!
— Why don't you have any Sigma faparats?
— Why don't you bring a Canon 580 flash? Without it, the Canon image is incomplete!
— What about the Krasnogorsk plant?
— What's good about this meeting for the Photography community?
- But the exhibition Pentax can be several orders of magnitude higher than the one that comes out of the conveyor...
— And a stubborn canonist will never switch to Nikon. Canon rulez!
- Think about it! What are you doing! Holy, holy.
— Yes, every manufacturer has a lot of photogarfies and even 3D panoramas of their cameras on the Network. Why touch them with your hands?
— Why buy Pentax, when the native Canon does not do worse?
— It would be nice to invite representatives of all five manufacturers. Without them, the meeting will be incomplete! You can't promise for any of the manufacturers that such a batch of such products will be made by a certain date.

It will be very, very difficult to find an alternative to premium boxes wall.gif. And even the point is not in the quality of the assembly itself wink.gif( and I assure you it is worked out to automatism), not in the number of layers of varnish shuffle.gif, not in the varnish confused.gifitself, but in the price umnik.gif. Sell for 1300r. box(40/50) of this level on seg. day of idiots is not found. But don't think of me as such, it's just my gift for people who love and respect their collection.

In general, if a quorum of 6 people is reached by the number of 10, then we are going to meet. If it's not typed, it means it's not typed.

Roman, be more modest and people like you will reach out even more! wink.gif

Oh, Roman, it's a pity you left. Right now the box came from the Italians, very interesting thing. An opinion would be interesting;--)

Great, especially since we didn't manage to sit down last time, only crossed paths on the run. Maybe we'll catch up this time ))

12.07.2013 14:28, Peter Khramov

The target date is moved to the 20th day, because there is no quorum, because part of the quorum will not be available this week, and because additional options will be available next week.

16.07.2013 22:47, Black Coleopter

And let's do it on July 27-28!!!

17.07.2013 0:11, Peter Khramov

If anyone else has any suggestions, please contact us. I can do both 20 and 27.

17.07.2013 14:20, Peter Khramov

Tomorrow I'll post photos and links to descriptions of those boxes that I'll bring if people help me...
