6700 ads for buying/exchanging/selling insects with selection by parameters + publishing your own offers

Community and ForumEntomological collections6700 ads for buying/exchanging/selling insects with selection by parameters + publishing your own offers

UP: Section Yandex. Market significantly updated. Now it publishes more than just ads uploaded directly to your site. Insecta.pro (see below), but also offers from other sites. To begin with, we put >6000 lots from stores and from eBay.
For them, the same selection based on a sea of parameters is still valid. Please take a look, test and express your opinion about the need for such a direction. If there is a positive reaction, we will increase the number of active offers plus reduce the time lag for updating data (this is especially important for ebay with its auctions).

The system is running in test mode, but all ads are real.

Text from March 20, 2016:

On Insecta.pro a new section has been added — Yandex. Market - in which everyone can exchange insects, as well as sell, buy, and give / accept as a gift dry collection material.

Ready-made Ru + En audience (approximately 50-50 ratio). Merge with the catalog and taxon tree. Easy loading and selection by parameters.

Main features read more:

1. Selection of lots based on a variety of parameters (at the time of launch — 18). Sample size: beetles of the Cerambycidae family, from the USA, no more than 100 rubles.:

http://insecta.pro/ru/market?tx=[840777]+Cerambycidae&countries[]=151&pless=100

2. Linking taxa to the site's catalog, so:
2.1. Just link a lot to a species, and users will be able to find it both by the name of the species itself (as well as synonyms, generic combinations, and Russian names), and by the names of parent taxa. I.e., a person interested in nymphalids of the European part of the Russian Federation will find a lot with urticaria without any additional actions on the part of the seller.
2.2 If the lot is not illustrated, you can use illustrations from the site directly in the general selection of lots (set up by the check mark on the right side of the page).
2.3 Selection based not only on the parameters of the lots themselves, but also on the parameters of the types (6 out of 18 parameters).
2.4. Taxon tree and quick links to the pages of the species (or other taxon to which the lot is linked) and its parent taxa.

3. A shared shopping cart, from which the order is placed in one go, regardless of the number of sellers whose lots the buyer has selected.

4. Rating system plus comments at the level of the lot, seller and buyer (speaking of black and white lists).

5. Upload lots via the web form and via spreadsheet files (in the latter case, you can upload thousands of lots in one sitting).
6. Upload illustrations to lots one at a time and in bundles via zip archives.
7. Configure multiple parameters both at the general level (by default for all lots) and at the individual lot level (up to payment and delivery for a single lot).
8. Configure access to information about lots — from fully open to accessible by password or even only to the seller.

Upcoming plans

9. Adding the "Demand" section to the "Supply" section (i.e. it will be possible to publish bids/offers for purchase, not just for sale).
10. Complete the translation and enable Sevris in the English version of the site, plus display prices in different currencies.

Less immediate plans

11. Automatic export of ads from eBay and/or other sites at the request of the seller (so that the seller does not load the same information a hundred times to different sites).
12. If there is interest, publish ads that are not just uploaded to the site in the general selection Insecta.pro, but also data from other resources, including Yandex. Money with the associated collection of stats at, for example, average prices (to the question of creating a single price list).

So that you can immediately see how everything works, I asked several people to upload their current offers. Accordingly, everything that is posted-with real prices and real users. If someone finds something for themselves, you can place orders.
You can also upload new lots right now, without waiting for anything.

Questions

A) What you like, what you don't like, what to add, what to remove, any of your comments, suggestions and, again, questions.
B) How to make the feedback and rating system as adequate as possible? The first thing that comes to mind is confirmation from the admin on the topic that the application in general at least took place.
C) Currently, only registered users can buy (again, for ratings and the like). Should we open this opportunity to everyone?

By the way, another question: should I make the mode of showing photos from the site's gallery as illustrations for those lots that are not illustrated by default (now-you need to select the appropriate mode with a check mark on the right side of the page)?

22.03.2016 15:36, Peter Khramov

Regarding the questions "it is necessary that only beetles can be viewed":
Citizens! You can view beetles. And not only beetles, but also representatives of any taxon in general should be selected. Use the selection parameters on the right side of the page, and everything will
be perfect. P. S. Relevant not only for the exchange, but also for the sections "https://insecta.pro/cataog" target="_blank">Catalog"and "https://insecta.pro/gallery" target="_blank">Gallery».

And more. If anyone has any suggestions, suggestions from which sites to publish on Insekst in the general selection for a more convenient search — also unsubscribe, do not hesitate.

I looked just for curiosity, almost went deaf from such prices. Any junk item like owls, worth its weight in gold. Are these the prices right now?

"The moped is not mine. I just posted an ad" (c). A little later, I will connect the publication of a link to the original ad for each lot, you can go take a look. And in short — the price is taken from the ad and multiplied by the approximate exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

how does delivery work?
if I place an order for an insect.about writing my delivery address...
the product is allowed to be located in Germany, and the insecticide.pro as an intermediary in Russia

and how is the payment made?

Viktor, the section insects discussed here is informational. Its purpose is to have access to offers from different sites, selecting lots based on the criteria you need. In other words, instead of going through a cloud of sites and trying to get through all their amenities to the African barbels or European whiteflies you are looking for, you get a list of what you are looking for with three mouse clicks.

But after you collect the items in the shopping cart, you will still have to communicate directly with specific sellers, because Insecta is not a store or anyone's representative. You can assume that this is a highly specialized Yandex with the ability to publish your information (in this case, lots or bids), which allows you to:

A) View a lot of things in one place
B) It is convenient to select offers based on parameters that are not selected anywhere else
plus C) Upload your information.

Information on delivery, when sellers have it, will also be collected and published (currently it is published only for ads posted directly on Inseket).

I just didn't see any information about the person who sells the material.
I also didn't see a link to the original source.

I added the product to the shopping cart, then I need to specify my delivery address - why do this on the insectaite site?about? and how/when can I contact the seller?

30.12.2016 18:20, vafdog

and, if I want to ask questions about the product to the seller before buying, then where to write?

30.12.2016 21:17, Peter Khramov

Viktor, the shopping cart, and the entire ordering system for ads published directly on Insectare fully operational, and delivery information is up-to-date there.
And external ads are now being put up in test mode to look at people's opinions and continue based on the results. Therefore, there are still no links to the original ads and sellers, and therefore there are not a few lots, but not as many as they should be.
In other words, an increase in the product range, direct links, and a universal shopping cart-assembly for internal and external ads-is the next stage. But I ask you to test the usability of ad samples using the current example.
But the people don't react very well. Although shtukentsiya should be very convenient.

Now we'll finish the full translation and see what the foreigners have to say.

I get it, thanks. the idea is certainly good and the parameter filter is a big plus

30.12.2016 23:16, okoem

Please take a look, test and express your opinion about the need for such a direction.

Offers:
1. Put popular squads (butterflies, beetles) at the top of the list and highlight them in bold.
2. Smooth exit of menus is inconvenient.
3. I didn't find how to switch to the price in pupaars or euros.
4. I didn't find how to reset/disable the selection parameters. I set different parameters and got an empty sample as a result. There should be a "clear filters"button. All at once or for each one separately.

Vladimir, thank you for your notes. We will also highlight popular ones. In addition, other taxa will also be highlighted for accumulating statistics, other menus are also planned (in general, a slightly different interface for selecting parameters), a currency switch and parameter reset will also be available.
I think we will do all this during the holidays, plus links to the site's pages.

I think it would be convenient to make a "save filter" button for users. That is, the user entered the filter parameters once, clicked "save" - as he calls his filter, the next time the site is visited, the user can choose from the list of previously saved filters the one that he is interested in at the moment.

Alexey, there will also be such a thing. Moreover, it will be possible to create filters that are visible only to the user and public filters that are visible to everyone.
A similar feature will appear in the new photo gallery, which will also contain photos not only uploaded by users directly to the site, but also found by the robot on other resources.

03.01.2017 21:06, Peter Khramov

On the page of each external lot (i.e. uploaded not directly to the Insecticide, but imported from other sites), there is now a link to the original ad (see the text "Go to the original ad").
Gentlemen, I remind you that external ads are currently working in test mode to see what people think and get feedback, and therefore you will have to order their products on external sites using links. And then the cat didn't cry enough reviews, and people already went to make orders.
Now I will unsubscribe about this case to everyone who placed orders...

03.01.2017 22:26, Peter Khramov

In addition to the price in rubles (in the main currency), the price in the original currency (euros or pupaars) is now published both on the lot page and on the page of the general selection of lots.

03.01.2017 22:57, okoem

The search by taxon is not working correctly.
For the query "Rosalia alpina" - finds.
For the query "Rosalia" - finds.
For the query "alpina" - does not find frown.gif

04.01.2017 22:46, Peter Khramov

Search by taxon works with automatic substitutions ("sagest", suggestions). In other words, in a good way, you need not just enter the name of the taxon, but enter the name, wait for substitutions, select the desired option (for which a unique code is immediately added) and then click the selection button. Otherwise, for the same alpina, there will be too many matches in the taxon database (and the wrong one may be selected).
But auto-substitutions sometimes slow down, and users click enterers without waiting for these same sagests. Therefore, an emergency crutch was made so that the program could select not only by the taxon code, but also by its name. But in this case, it now searches only for the exact occurrence, and therefore the short view name doesn't work.
I'll think about how to make it faster/more obvious/correct.
