user posted imageWhite crunch Polyphylla alba (Scarabaeidae). Large beetle, size 25.5-33.2 mm. The larvae of this beetle harm many herbaceous plants, grapes and fruit trees. The beetle prefers sandy soils and lives in river valleys. Beetles fly at night, burrow into the soil during the day. Mostly males fly. The whiskers consist of two broad plates like those of a May beetle. White crunch is distributed in the south of Russia, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Mongolia, and China.
