From the photo gallery Pavel Korzunovich

Podalirius (Latin: Iphiclides podalirius Linnaeus, 1758)is a butterfly of the Papilionidae family. The caterpillar feeds on plants of the rosaceae family (blackthorn, almond, bird cherry, mountain ash). It is a widespread species, found almost all over the Palearctic. In Russia, it doesn't go north of Moscow.

The species is named after Podalirios, a healer from the myths of ancient Greece.

I post a special photo of the brood podalirius Iphiclides podalirius
In the topic about the swallowtail, his photos began to appear, either because a related species does not hurt, or because these relatives are confused-tails, stripes.
In short, let's not confuse, but rather create two full-fledged galleries of popular beautiful sailboats, put pictures in nature, collections, pictures of preimaginal phases, etc.

In the picture - Iphiclides podalirius ex pupa. Material from Ukraine, Kherson. Special thanks to S. N. Vashchenko.

Kasimovsky district, Ryazan region, pos. Gus-Zhelezny, 18.05.2008. This year, applicants are distinguished by non-standard behavior:
- in the presence of a large number of blooming lilacs, they persistently feed on dandelions;
- they sit directly on the ground, both on mud near puddles and on dry ones.

Vlad, just above are my photos from Gus-Zhelezny, which is only 100 kilometers from Vladimir, and 10 kilometers from the border of the Vladimir region. And quite a stable population. I meet them every spring in May, apparently, the second generation does not develop. They also fly in the forest near bird cherry thickets (about 5 km to the Vladimir region) and within the village itself.

There was a case, we went out for the New Year...
And if there is no desire to take risks, then it is necessary to send for the winter: either "in nature", or on a cold balcony.

Or you can say that I just want to take the risk of growing them at home. If the conditions are all normal, how long will they hatch?

In this case, everything is unpredictable.
