Podalirius (Latin: Iphiclides podalirius Linnaeus, 1758)is a butterfly of the Papilionidae family. The caterpillar feeds on plants of the rosaceae family (blackthorn, almond, bird cherry, mountain ash). It is a widespread species, found almost all over the Palearctic. In Russia, it doesn't go north of Moscow.
The species is named after Podalirios, a healer from the myths of ancient Greece.
