I decided to post on the Forum a photo of a female wavy clanis (Primorsky Krai, Khasansky district, Andreevka village, 27.08.06.).
Clanis undulosa is one of the largest Russian hawkmoths (wingspan up to 130 mm). It lives permanently only in the Khasansky district of Primorsky Krai. We keep it in oak woodlands and cultural landscapes in the coastal zone in well-warmed places. Years in the second half of July-August. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of Lespedecia.
Willingly flies to the light. Although it is listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation, it is quite common in its habitats.
