2) Agapanthia (Smaragdula) violacea Fabricius, 1775-occasionally not burdock.

There should be no A. violacea in the Moscow region. It is 99.9% Agapanthia (Smaragdula) intermedia Ganglbauer, 1884. It develops on the bark beetle-Knautia arvensis.

I'll take a look."
I looked at it, thank you (there is really a lot of scabbard there), but I found a beetle on a burdock (in the same place).

please catch some more fish and take a good look at what they live on. And redefine it again. Perhaps the fiolacea goes to the north or the intermedia feeds not only on the korostavnik - the first and second are interesting)

1) What is meant by "burdock"? Burdock? Thistle? Bodyak? Please specify.
2) Did you collect beetles "by hand" or by mowing? And in what quantity (series?). Barbels are very mobile, and the capture of one or two or so specimens on a plant with a sufficient number of scabbers nearby does not confirm or refute the fact of intermedia monophagy.

Bodyak, exactly. Early May-mid-June. But only in one place(locally)-I haven't seen it anywhere else (this bug). Collected manually 2 times for about 10 copies. in both cases (2007-08). I am surprised myself (after all, A. vilosoviridescens is everywhere). confused.gif
