I'll try to start a new topic.
Beetles of the Moscow region.
This representative of the giant genus is found on sandy, open near-water stations. Beetles are active during the day, running fast on the sand. Predators. In case of danger, they take off like steeds. This copy. collected on the bank of the Oka River.

Hello! How do you feel about the Catalog of life website? There (if you believe the creators) is a list of all species, and with full taxonomy. I have this problem: I collect photos of different types of animals (for a child). I would like to show it in Latin as well. But often cool photos either don't have a Latin name at all, or when searching in the Catalog of life for such a name, I can't find the type, even among synonyms of the accepted name. How often are they (species) renamed? weep.gif A class photo!

Views are rarely renamed. But the generic name can be changed easily, the taxonomy is not in place now. But this genus doesn't seem to have been renamed yet. The subgenus Bracteon is like now.

There are very few invertebrates in this catalog so far. Actually, the creation of this directory is in its infancy and it doesn't make any sense to use it at the moment.
