well, to the heap - the strangest monohamus of our fauna:

Why strange?

12.03.2007 18:17, KDG

Why strange?

Because it's not Monochamus smile.gif
It develops on deciduous trees, the habitus and genitalia are different... No, not Monochamus.

Duc, Monohamus or not Monohamus, that's the question?!!

Duc, Monohamus or not Monohamus, that's the question?!!

monohamus has to be called until it is established to which genus it actually belongs.

I will add another species - M. urussovi (Fischer v. Waldheim, 1806) - black fir barbel, harmful in Siberia. In Karelia - on spruce, it occurs infrequently.

I would like to know if anyone else caught anything from this tribe (Monochamini) in the Moscow region. I start with 3 species of the genus Monochamus.
All 3 species are collected in one place-Moscow region, Balashikha district, Zheleznodorozhny district by forest clearings on coniferous trees:
1i2. Monochamus galloprovincialis Olivier, 1795 (male and female) - pine.
3i4. Monochamus sutor Linnaeus, 1758 (male and female) - spruce.
5 and 6. Monochamus urussovi Fisher, 1806 (male and female) - spruce, occasionally (the species is more Siberian), and so is the largest and most beautiful beetle of the entire series.
