I decided to continue the forgotten topic with five views from my places:
M. O. Balashikha district of Zheleznodorozhny district.
1) Upis ceramboides Linnaeus, 1758-20.06.2008, on a birch tree.
2) Bolitophagus reticulatus Linnaeus, 1767-14.09.1997, in tinder boxes.
3) Diaperis boleti Linnaeus, 1758-03.05.2002, in tinder boxes.
4) Opatrum sabulosum Linnaeus, 1761-26.04.2001, on a field road.
5) Tenebrio molitor Linnaeus, 1758-26.07.2009, in the light, in the evening.

Well, a couple of desert views:
1) Blaps faustii Seidlitz, 1893? (L=39mm.) Turkmenistan, Karakum mountains. 25.11.2000г.
2) Erodius (Dirosis) barbarus Solier, 1834? (L=14mm.) Egypt, Luxor
04.04.1997 P.S. The definition is approximate because I do not know them (I only know our species).
Can someone fix it? In general, I want to open a separate topic on the definition of blackbirds (at the most some number of species is uncertain).
How do you feel about this?

I don't think this is appropriate. The topic "identifying beetles" is quite enough. The topic "Definition of ground beetles of the genus Carabus" is objectively necessary due to the peculiarity of this group (here there is a variety, and the presence of a large number of subspecies, forms, variations, etc., and the increased interest of many collectors in these beetles, etc.). If you follow this path, then you need to open separate branches "Definition of elephants", "Definition of leaf eaters" and so on., which, in my opinion, will lead to overload and confusion. But this is just my personal opinion. smile.gif

Plesiophthalmus davidi Fairm., 1878 is quite rare in broad-leaved forests of South Sikhote-Alin.
Male, length 18 mm., South Primorye, Chernihiv region, near Merkushevka village, on the trunk of a dead Amur linden, 24. VII. 2007.
It is also found on the Korean Peninsula, in North and South Korea. In China. The second species of this genus
, Plesiophthalmus nigrocyaneus, Motsch, is found on Sakhalin, the Kuril Islands, and Japan.
It is possible that this is the first photo image of the species.

I doubt it, too. That's why I asked the question.

Actually, I asked the question-do I really think that during the time that tourists usually devote to Luxor, it was possible to meet so many beetles?
