A rare bug for the Moscow province (when I was there, at least). I congratulate you on your discovery. What area, if not a secret?
We fished in Voskresenskoye, a long time ago.

The district is still the same-Lukhovitsky. Not that it's rare, but rather sporadic. Last year I found a place, the crowd is quite dense.

I caught it in the mid-90s in the Voskresensky district. The Good beetle.

Upis ceramboides is really sporadic, and not only in the Moscow region, but also, probably, in the entire central zone. Last year I found it in June in our Rostov region on the poplar "deck", and this year-in May in the Borisoglebsky district of the Yaroslavl region in the dried fruit body of a tinder box on a birch tree, I took three copies at once.

Many THANKS to omar for 3 Upis smile.gif
I inetersno than eat larvae upisov. The fact is that upis are alive - I want to breed them. What can you choose as food and how best to set up a cage for them?

I find them on rotten birches and elms. Larva in the rotten, wet rot of these rocks. I fed my children bread crumb soaked in kvass, or a brew of black tea. They eat very well and greedily.

according to your advice, I also feed you bread crumb soaked in tea leaves. They eat well, someone is always eating.. But the larva.. What's she eating?. did they rot themselves, or did she need something special about the rot that is in other substances..?

It seems to me that if they can potentially lay eggs, they should find a rotten birch or elm tree. Moisten it so that it does not dry out. And the little larvae, when they hatch, will figure out what's what.

I would like to find an alternative to gnilushkam.. Like a crumb soaked in tea leaves.. this is very convenient and you don't need to suffer too much..

Colleagues, is there, please, an opportunity to get hold of larvae or imago (live) Upis'a? For me, this is an interesting view. Thank you in advance!

There is a possibility. However, I'm not sure that this year they will be more. But in the next one, for sure. How much do you need? If I find it, I'll unsubscribe. I'm talking about imago. I didn't breed them myself, but I kept them. No larvae found.

I'd be grateful for a dozen larvae, or at least a couple of imagos. Crossing through Kirill - I have regular opportunities with him, almost every week. I have a good experience with black heifers, so I think I would have pulled the population out of one pair. Thank you very much in advance. What can I do for you?" Maybe you are interested in something in exchange (pins, etc.)?

Unfortunately, I couldn't read your message - "hieroglyphs". Changing the encoding didn't help. If possible, please send the same information to my email address. Thank you in advance.

I wonder if this is the only taiga darkling?
Is the generation annual?

The development cycle seems to be three years (please correct me if I made a mistake). Imago lives a long time, I have a beetle lived for 3 years. What does the only one mean? Of course not.

And why? If it's not a secret. Have you had enough of them in your area?
