Male of the endemic Balkan subspecies Zerynthia (Allancastria) cerisy ferdinandi Stichel, 1907 in nature. Bulgaria, Sliven, 400 m, 15.6.2009. The specimen is surprisingly late, with males beginning to fly in early May.

well, in general, captolabrus is right. the spread is not correct for 50 % of the specimens - the wings are lowered down.
