Here I would like to introduce some representatives of noctuids and erebids with bright and colorful colors.
The genus Eudocima
is widely distributed in the tropics and subtropics. Quite variable.
Dimensions are usually at least 7 cm in wingspan.

Eudocima sikkimensis
is a species widely distributed in South and Southeast Asia. This specimen is from Borneo.
It is very similar to E. tyrannus, which lives in the south of the Far East.

Eudocima phalonia (Othreis fullonia)
It is also widely distributed. It is given for Russia in the list of A. Y. Matov (2004).
In the picture, the male (above) is Malaysia, North Borneo, 01.2007.
The female is North Vietnam, 04.1994.

Eudocima phalonia (Othreis fullonia)
It is also widely distributed. It is given for Russia in the list of A. Y. Matov (2004).

I will add data from Noctuidae Sibiricae [Kononenko, 2005]
E. falonia was first reported for Russia by V. S. Kononenko [1990a], and since then several more specimens have been caught, including in the Khasansky district during a strong typhoon. It is considered an irregular migrant from the tropics.

In general, an interesting thing smile.gif

Again not "snake":
It seems to be the usual Ophiusa tirhaca. There is only one special feature - this is the second specimen known from the territory of Southern Primorye.

Arcte coerula (wingspan-68mm)
Also an Asian species, which is also found in the south of the Far East. Even listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. Apparently, a migrant. Our caterpillars are marked on nettles.
The given copy is from North Vietnam.

In owls of the genus Eudocima, the caterpillars have an original color and assume a characteristic threatening pose when in danger.

There is an opinion that Ophiusa tirhaca is still a pistachio tapeworm. And the pistachio scoop is Eutelia adulatrix.

I won't say for sure, but maybe this new topic will form itself?

For some reason, on http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/bio/life/i...tera/index.html both species belong to the family Nolidae, although the second, in my opinion, does not fit this family in any way...
