I see that Cucullia lactucae (Denis & Schiffermuller, 1775) is not included in this topic yet.
In August of last year, I found a caterpillar, and today a butterfly emerged from the overwintered pupa.

A day later, she pupated in a dense, sand-covered cocoon in the ground (photo of the pupa pulled out of it):

There are no words! Great! mol.gif mol.gif mol.gif

According to the caterpillar, this species differs perfectly, and according to the imago from similar species?
What is the difference between Cucullia lucifuga and Cucullia umbratica?

Are you sure?" It turns out that it has not yet been marked in the Ministry of Defense?

As far as can be judged from the forewings, this is fraterna, namely one of its two forms - pustulata (Eversmann, 1842). This form of fraterna also lives in Ukraine. The RDV is inhabited by another, darker one, with darker (up to black) elements of the pattern.
There is still a possibility that it is lactucae. Everything will become clear if you take a photo of a straightened butterfly. The hindwings of lactucae are almost uniformly colored, while in fraterna the middle of the wing is very light sometimes to white.

Well, as soon as I remove it from the straightener , I'll post a photo in this topic.

Yes, if it's her - then it's a new look for MO!
However, it is known from the Kaluga, Tula, Ryazan and Vladimir regions (only a few everywhere), so it is quite expected in Moscow.

Photo of a straightened bred butterfly. As soon as it is determined exactly, I will sign it.

Anton is not lactucae. To date, and until the release of the corresponding volume of A Taxonomic Atlas of the Eurasian and North African Noctuoidea, this butterfly is called Cucullia fraterna.

As I wrote above, the name pustulata is also applicable to this butterfly. I am fully aware of the information on this subject, but I must refrain from commenting until the book is published.
In any case, you have caught a very interesting species known only from isolated finds.

I decided to contribute to the theme and take a picture of a couple of views from last year's top unassembled box. I may have identified it incorrectly, but I hope Barko will correct it.
