I know about the variety of patterns and colors of these butterflies, but this is the first time I've met this one. Taken on the territory of the Moscow region (Ramenskiy district) 2007:06:19 22:32:09 (night shooting)

This is ♀ f. corylaria. In England, it is considered a common form - in the Moscow region, apparently, it is not?

In the Ministry of Defense, mostly ordinary monophonic forms... And what other forms do this species have?

Yes, it seems that there are only two constants - this one is nominative.

If they differ in sex and there are only two forms, then who are these - males or females? and who is the corresponding ochre-red? (no photo)

These are two females, ochre-red-male. Look at the whiskers, they are more feathery in the male...

I've never seen this form before.

I've seen this form once, but I didn't catch frown.gifit . They start flying in the early evening, when it is still quite light and fly very fast and high...

I also used to get frustrated when I couldn't collect such moths. You can't call it rare. f. corylaria may be less common than usual, but it is also quite common (at least in Odintsovo district). On overgrown forest clearings, where there are more flowers, they fly during the day. Willingly fly to the light. All this is available in the Moscow region and quite a lot.
