We will definitely cut it off! I have a series of identical ones, is it better to watch a male or a female?

I somehow like males more. Their pussies are easier to cut. In general, I think it doesn't matter.

Just now there is no such subfamily-Xyleninae. All the tribes, beginning with Pseudestrotiini, were grouped into Noctuinae.

The whiskers are thin, the shape of the wings is rounded-categorically not obelisca. Similar to nigrofusca. see NE 12: 147–149, 260, 262, 294.

Agrotiss in general are very difficult to study. Differences in the structure of the genitals are poorly expressed. So in this species group for a long time, no one was able to understand. Still, the opportunity to clarify was found.
Valvae of three closely related species (militaris, stenibergmani& frosya) have a similar structure and are almost indistinguishable (valvae of stenibergmani are larger). However, the scales are all of different lengths, which corresponds exceptionally well to the structure of the female genitals. Females of these species have a long, medium and short ductus bursa, respectively, and in general, the female genital apparatus corresponds in size to the gen.app. of males. This is a classic case of a key and lock.

In the beginning, to understand it, I needed to check all three types. In appearance and geography, Shtenibergmanni can not be confused with anything, Frosya is known only from Bering, everything else is militaris. Both in appearance and genitals, I can distinguish them without comparison, one copy at a time. I need practice.
