  Xestia tabida Butler,1878
This is most likely Xestia baja

28.11.2010 14:49, svm2

Well, it used to be like this-Xestia baja tabida, now it is considered a good species, very similar. For China, it seems to be a tabid, but I will not say because of insufficient information.

According to Chen Yixin, 1999, China has both baja and tabida. And where did you get the information on these types?

28.11.2010 16:21, svm2

At the expense of good species, I probably rushed, here's what I found
A Revision of the collection of Noctuidae (Lepidoptera)

reported from Korea by O. Herz in 1904

Vladimir S. Kononenko

quote-

Agrotis baja - At present, Xestia baja ([Denis & Schifferm ller], 1775) and Xestia tabida are treated as two distinct species, forming a sister group since Boursin (1963). The former is distributed in the Western Palaearctic region, and the Far Eastern population belongs to the latter. However this specific pair needs a revision for clarifying their status as two distinct species or a subspecies. Author identified Korean population as X. tabida

was there a revision I don't know

Agrotis fatidica Hübner 1824 - Rila Mts , near Musala Hut , 2390m.

This is perhaps one of my very favorite Noctuids ever ( in fact I have many wink.gif ) ! Because of it's biology , because of it's rarity and of coarse because unlike many other Noctuids it's female is with undeveloped wings. Never found female , during my last trip in Rila Mts. I stare all over , nothing found frown.gif

Sergey! I would like to draw your attention to the fact that writing labels with a ballpoint pen is highly undesirable, because the paper can get wet or get fat from the butterfly and the entire inscription will be irrevocably blurred! in extreme cases, you can use a simple pencil. but now after all printing labels on a computer is not a problem smile.gif
