Well, I'll post a comparison of the Russian male Dorcus parallelipipedus (Linnaeus, 1758) wink.gif
Here we can clearly see that they belong to the so-called f. minor (the inner teeth of the mandibles disappear).: http://www.zin.ru/ANIMALIA/COLEOPTERA/rus/lucan06.htm

I can't deal with this disabled person in any way frown.gif
I want to suggest guessing the type smile.gif
Odontolabis sp.
Odontolabis cuvera Hope, 1842 (India, Vietnam)?
Odontolabis vollenhoveni Parry, 1864 (Borneo)?
And this fellow is from Peninsular Malaysia. From there, the same as previously posted and similar Odontolabis wollastoni Parry, 1864 but confused by completely different mandibles confused.gif
I will be grateful for any suggestions.

picture: ______798.jpg

In the last photo, if you look closely, you can see that the source of sap flow that attracted the beetle was damage to the trunk by an artillery shell fragment (split wood fibers are visible).

And this is peaceful 2011, August 8:

Apparently, the last meal in the life of these males, there is also a bunch of corpses gathered under the tree - an excellent source of replenishment of the collection without harming the population. Together with the deer, Dorcus parallelipipedus and Vespa crabro were fed.

Rogachy vs passalidy - I don't know, unfortunately, I didn't delve into it. I don't recall any polemics on this issue, but maybe everything is simple there. The larvae may be different. I should ask, yes.
Here's another one, a handsome one. I just liked it. About the size of Dorcus.

One of the most beautiful cattails in the south of South America. The most common and one of the most widely distributed species of this genus. It is found in a large part of Chile in 5 regions from the south of Bio-Bio to the north of Aisen and adjacent regions along the border of Argentina.

Dear Honza, there is an inaccuracy in your selection of photos of lucanids from 08.10.2015.
"Lucanus formosus Didier, 1925" is actually Lucanus tsukamotoi Nagai, 2002.
Below is a scan of the page with the image of the L. formosus series (=L. cyclommatoides Didier, 1928) from the Japanese magazine Gekkan-Mushi.
