Odacantha melanura Linnaeus, 1767
I start the topic with a photo of this ground beetle. The view from this tribe is probably the only one in the Moscow region. The beetle is sometimes found in the spring in swamps, under the bark of shrubs. Copy from here: Moscow region Balashikha district, Zheleznodorozhny district.

A good beetle and rare (at least in our Yaroslavl region). I caught it only in 2 points in the Rostov region, as well as in the Istra district of the Moscow region. And under the bark I didn't come across them, all the specimens are on the drive vegetation.

I collect it under the bark in early April (apparently after wintering).

Balan! You just need to know how and where. Find the bank of the pond, overgrown with all sorts of sedge and reeds with reeds, and start at the water's edge to push apart the stems at the base and carefully sort through all this greenery, not being lazy to look into the axils of the leaves.

And mine are just the very beginning of April from under the bark (in the picture collected: 02.04.1999).

Omar, have you ever seen anything else like this before?"

"Like this" we no longer just have in the fauna. It is also usually accompanied by demetrias

Yes, he is not cool, but rather his lifestyle is specific. More kills the fact that we have it looks like the only beetle from the tribe (that's why I started the topic).
