Dear colleagues. Collecting is a multi-faceted and addictive business. In addition to beetles, I collect badges on the theme "Reserves and national parks of the world". I want to introduce those of them that depict insects. It will be very cool if any of you would like to help me identify the views shown. In addition, I know that many of you either work or cooperate with various nature reserves. I will be very grateful for your help in finding "reserved" icons.
The first one has already appeared on the Zinovy website. Callipogon relictus-made in Arsenyev in 1976. The author of the sketch is Kharchenko Nikolay Mikhailovich. In addition to the usual, in my collection there is a very rare variety on "heavy metal"

I can try to get badges of the Tigiretsky Nature Reserve, if there are any in nature.

29.08.2010 7:56, Cerega

Thank you, Roman! I will be very grateful! At least I know one, but I don't have one. By the way, it has a stylized butterfly logo on it. There may have been other issues.

Although not exactly my theme, I also have this icon. Moscow Zoo.

If you would like to see beetles or butterflies on your anniversary badges
, please write to us. We may even announce a contest for icon sketches.
I understand that the badges "stamped from heavy metal" are much more interesting than plastic ones? tongue.gif

Guys, let's be careful with posting non-entomological images on a specialized forum.
Of course, the attitude to sunset icons is rather ambiguous. But it's hardly worth discussing here. Personally, I am completely on the side of Bomka.
And not just the butterfly beetles... First, you need to decide on the iconic insects for your reserve. List to the studio...
In the meantime, here. Protected area in Alaska.

Sergey, thank you!
What are the most interesting/beautiful metal icons you have with beetles?
Can I see their pictures? Preferably with an indication of the size (I think it will come in handy). wink.gif

Thank you, of course it's worth it, but I would like to be serious. Some diagnostic signs may not be visible, but the" collection point " is known.

for the Bomka.
You can view the protected icons here http://forum.faleristika.info/viewforum.php?f=501, By insects here
http://forum.faleristika.info/viewtopic.php?f=513&t=4785 I will specify the specific dimensions, most of the "reserved" ones are available in my collection. The "insects" are more difficult, but we'll figure something out.
I wrote to you in PM. Did you get it?

30.08.2010 8:03, Бомка

Sergey, I got the message.
Perhaps there is something left in the environmental education department.
The circulation of badges was small... (500 pieces).

We are just planning to order new badges and chevrons for inspectors.
Those that are now - standard "Rosprirodnadzor" of the old model (I will try to take a picture this week).

So most likely they were intended by the creators of the icons. After all, in those points to which these icons are dedicated, there should be nothing similar (this is the logic I have when determining by these icons).

"So most likely they were planning this by the creators of the icons." - how did I not really understand? Is it possible to have the same idea, but in a different way?
I really don't know. There is no swallowtail on the territory of the Voronezh Nature Reserve? If so, what subspecies? Parnassius (mnemosyne does not count, it is without red spots) were not noted in the PTZ? It was even interesting! How about the rest? Golubyanochka, fly, krasotel?

Well, why shouldn't there be a swallowtail in Voronezh if it's a fairly common butterfly in Moscow?
In the PTZ Apollo is exactly (even somewhere on the forum were his photos from there).
On krasotelya's account: judging by the green elytra, it is an odorous cauliflower (Calosoma sycophanta Linnaeus, 1758).
By golubyanka and fly I can't say (not mine).

In the PTZ Apollo is exactly (even somewhere on the forum were his photos from there).
In the PTZ apollo is only in the museum's exposition on the central estate, and even then it was caught not there and not at all in the Moscow Region (I remember, in the Kaluga region). Since the 1970s, it has been considered extinct in the PTZ (after the main part of the biotope was reduced and other parts were partially degraded); on the forum, I posted photos of apollo from the PTZ of the early 1990s, when the species was temporarily reintroduced to the PTZ and was observed even in the vicinity; by the mid-1990s, the species became extinct again.

Thank you, that's the deal. But on the icon, it is unambiguous.

Apparently, this "beast" is very important for them. That's why there was a place for him on the icon of the reserve.

Friends, the forum is entomological, let's try to determine what is depicted on the icon. This, of course, does not apply to the last icon, everything is already clear to everyone. Who's on the Hungarian badge? And why is he so honored?

01.09.2010 3:06, Бомка

Who's on the Hungarian badge?

A beetle from the family of Palps (Pselaphidae).

01.09.2010 4:45, Cerega

Thank you, but at the congress in Kiev?

02.09.2010 9:13, udalov maksim

not exactly icons, of course, but still:
picture: hungary.jpg
the top picture is a token (or maybe an icon) European Entomological Congress, recently held in Budapest, Hungary. Here is about this logo as they themselves tell us:

On the fly in the logo of the Congress

The European stalked-eyed fly is in the logo of the IXth European Congress of Entomology.
The species was selected because of its entomological uniqueness, pleasing the most phlegmatic scholars of entomology and catching the eye of the laic.
Diopsids with their transversally prominent head, eyes and antenna on shorter or longer stalk, are very characteristic flies. The appearance is striking for most outsiders too, if they discover, that the stalks are not the antennae (and then many people associate to hammer-head shark).
Several hundred species are known in the world, mostly in the Old World tropics. Sphyracephala europaea (Papp and Földvári 1997) was first found in Europe in 1996, along a medium size river (Maros), in Hymenoptera-made holes in the high loess-wall of the shore.
The taxonomic and zoo-geographic uniqueness, strange outlook and the dependence on Hymenoptera (and loess-walls) make this creature ideal for calling public attention to the complexity of natural phenomena and nature conservation issues.

The illustration was made by Dr. Albert Szappanos, veterinary and a graphist of unique talent.

We have already written about Nizhny Novgorod, it is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Hungarian Entomological Society.

maybe all the same icons...???
