Vasily Sergeyevich Sidorenko, PhD in Biological Sciences, Senior researcher of the laboratory, died at the age of 46. Professor of Entomology at the Biology and Soil Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Vladivostok), specialist in Drosophila and other diptera. Vasily traveled to Novosibirsk by train for elective heart surgery, which increasingly failed him, but in the vicinity of Ulan-Ude, right in the train compartment, he was overtaken by death.
We're all just in shock. They were worried and clenched their fists for the successful outcome of the operation, which was supposed to take place on July 18, and then...
And now everything is not easy, the main thing is to deliver the body from Ulan-Ude to Vladivostok.
It's such a pity when people leave forever, especially so early...

Very sorry. I met Vasily quite recently - in Krasnodar at the REO congress, and now, he is no longer with us... He left so early... My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Vasily, we will remember!..

Yes, he was a bright man! I visited him and went to the Lazovsky Nature Reserve together in 2006. A year and a half ago, he was in Moscow for my defense... And so.... There are no words! I rummaged through my photo archive, but somehow I didn't take his portrait, only my wife took it in the car on the way back from Lazovsky to Vladivostok.
