Travel to the Carpathians (August)

Guys, I need some advice on this new place for me. I'd rather go on a tourist trip, take pictures, look around. I mostly aim for Transcarpathia, its eastern part (because there is a nature reserve there), but my plans can be changed. I would like to visit all the iconic places from the point of view of biofauna. Well, in general, to look at the beauty of nature (landscapes). Therefore, I ask experienced users to respond! )) In return, I can give any recommendations regarding the Primorsky Territory, in which I was born/grew up / hunted the smallest of our brothers ))
(the time factor can be ignored, because next year I plan to repeat the trip in early summer).
Thanks!

I was in the Carpathians only once, in 2004, with the guys from Ivano-Frankivsk. But we went to Gorgany, which is the north-western macroslope. Gorgany is interesting for its coniferous forests, and Transcarpathia-beech (the climate is milder). We went to the Gorgan places from Yaremcha, where it is easy to arrive by train from Frankovsk. Next - polonina Volchya-Elma-Servulya. It was mid-August. Features-a completely watery mountain country, wetter and wetter than the Caucasus; no wildebeest in August (unlike in June).

I see, thank you. As for freedom of movement for foreigners and in general.. local attitudes to them?
(nda, it is strange to write "foreigners" in relation to yourself, having parents from Zhytomyr)

I didn't experience any special problems, this is a tourist region, a lot of people with backpacks and tents. There is no language problem (Ukrainian, Russian). Freedom of movement is not restricted. There is, as elsewhere in the former USSR, a risk of running into a bullish situation, but there is no local specifics. But still, Transcarpathian people are a little friendlier to Russians and Russian-speakers than native people from the northern macroslope, a region traditionally opposed to Russia. Transcarpathians often distance themselves from Ukraine. But this is my IMHO, absolutely. As I have already said, during my trip I did not observe any special sacher-machers.

And what does it feel like to me, I'm from Donetsklol.gif, this is now like a stigma here - they immediately start to talk about the topic of Yanukovich.

what is endemic in the Carpathians? with Parnassus, everything seems to be hypothetically bigger there, if I'm not mistaken. and what is interesting about beetles (barbels, plates, etc.)?

I clicked on the wrong flower.

It is better to go for butterflies at the end of June-July. 5 species of Erebia(more are given in the literature - there are no modern finds yet). The jellyfish flies in June, the rest take off from mid-July. Here you can learn more about the types and timing of summer : http://www.alexanor.uzhgorod.ua/

what about Alpine rosalia? it would be interesting to watch it live. my childhood impressions of nezhebnaya were remembered for the rest of my life)
in general, it would be interesting to compare the indicators of biodiversity for entomofauna in the Primorye/Caucasus comparison/The Carpathians. In Primorye, as far as I remember, only barbels were about 200 species.

There shouldn't be any problems with the locals - from time immemorial, different nationalities lived nearby, and the territory "walked" in different polities. educational institutions. Well, closer to the lowlands there are regions where some of the local Magyars do not understand either Russian or Ukrainian. And if you have more specific questions about beetles, I can answer them. Rosalia is there, but locally and sporadically, and year after year it is not necessary, you can walk around the weeds for 2 weeks and to no avail, or you can remove 5-6 pieces from an unsightly stack.
