It may be suitable for small-scale faunalism.

They're all mixed up together.

Perhaps creating such a magazine is a marketing ploy.
Since the flagship Zookeys has a rather strict financial policy-payment is charged from a minimum of 20 pages (300 euros) and it does not matter if the submitted article is less. So the new magazine will give 2-3 page articles with payment per page (this is my guess!) . The rules are still vague about the low price, but in the beginning everything will be free. Conditions for a low price will be the design of the manuscript on the basis of online platforms where the authors themselves collect the body of the article according to the template and the program at the end gives a layout.

As long as there is no impact, no one will raise the price, otherwise there is simply no point in publishing there, only if you cover up some grants...

Mda, the need for a new brainchild of Pensoft is not entirely clear.

For example, for faunistics and individual finds, there is a magazine like this:
http://www.checklist.org.br/
Well, for the description, nomenclature, taxonomic notes, keys, etc. there are many other publications (including the same Zookey).

It is unlikely that the guys from Pensoft started this just like that, without guarantees for future profit. They're too clever at publishing. Surely the magazine will find its own author's audience, and surely there is some idea with a quick push through the impact. The checklist looks quite interesting zhrnal, but there is no impact, although age allows.
Time will show...
